EsterEv was outstanding last night! What a beautiful restaurant that feels elegant without being pretentious, vibrant and cozy. We had dinner at the bar and felt so taken care of from start to finish. Their entire staff was amazing and it was really cool to see Chef Dan Jacobs in action. Now to the food.....every dish blew us away. We started with the bread and broth, which in my opinion is a must if its your first time dining there. That broth is pure comfort. Next we moved on to the morel toast and fennel salad followed by the bucatini amatriciana and steak au poivre. Every dish was beautifully plated and the flavors were spot on. We finished the meal with complimentary chocolate chip cookies - such a nice touch. Thank you EsterEv for a wonderful evening! We will be back!

Outstanding! First time here and won't be the last. Our server Alex was amazing, explained everything perfectly. Caviar toast was delicious as was the morel toast and prawns. Stuffed chicken was the best my husband has had. Cooked perfectly, juicy and seasoned on point. Orchiette and sausage was fantastic. Sausage had a great balance of texture and flavor and pasta witb pesto was cooked just right with amazing pesto. Dan Jacob's even stopped at our table. Milwaukee is lucky to have such an amazing chef and restaurant!

The restaurant has a warm and elegant ambiance. To drink I got the “In A nutshell” which was a pecan bourbon which I really enjoyed. To start, Ilana and I ordered the monkey bread and mom’s broth. The bread was warm, garlicky, and incredibly cheesy, and Ilana loved her gluten free bread. It paired perfectly with the salted butter. The soup was great with the rich broth and was loaded with onions. The most fun appetizer and a staple of their menu was the super crispy tater tot topped with caviar. The potato had an incredible crunch on the outside, while the salty caviar added a luxurious touch, along with the creme fraiche and fresh dill. We also shared the endive salad, which had a nice walnut tapenade, while the citrus added a nice light flavor. We also got the lamb ragout. The flavor of the lamb was incredible, and we loved the cooling cilantro yogurt on top. For each course, it was fun to have the waiter explain the dish. Ilana’s entrée was the walleye, which was incredibly fresh and light. The fish had a delicate flavor that paired really well with the spinach and the fried green tomato. The green salsa added a Southwestern flavor that was a great touch to the dish. For my entree, I got the steak which may have been my favorite dish of the night. It was served with a heavenly bordelaise sauce that was thick, rich, and slightly sweet without being overpowering. It complemented the steak perfectly. I also loved fresh kohlrabi, the purée, and greens adding a nice balance and complexity to the plate. For dessert, we tried the hot chocolate, which had olive oil ice cream under a chocolate mousse with balsamic, cocoa nibs, and salt. Ilana’s immediate reaction of “WOW!” truly said it all. It was rich and decadent with a rice dark chocolate, balanced by the salt on top.

We had gone as a family to celebrate a birthday, with a party of 5 total. The place was beautiful, the art and overall style were unique. We often order a large portion of the menu to try everything- and it was very easy, and everything from the starter to dessert was phenomenal. Along with this they were very accommodating. The drink menu was thoughtful and every option was drastically different. Wine selection was also very solid, if that’s your thing. The first course of bread, butter and broth was simple and each aspect was well thought out. The carrots were a really stand out dish for us as well, highlighting that a little bit of extra care for something like this can completely catch you off guard. I believe that’s a really big theme of the place, take things super simple and making it perfect. While I could describe the entire experience, it’s best to go in yourself and get whatever catches the eye. A beautiful restaurant and vibe that is definitely worth returning to.

Came to EsterEv in its first week after reopening. The room looked so cute. The drinks were delicious. We sat at the bar- service were perfect. Not overbearing but still attentive DO NOT miss the bread butter and broth The pierogi was delicious. The stuffed chicken was rich and comforting. Oh my god that hot chocolate dessert. It tasted like my mom’s chocolate cake batter from when I was a kid— in the best way. I wish I didn’t have to share it with my stupid boyfriend. Kiiiiiidding. Lovely meal. Wish I lived closer
