Know the three types
Municipal and public courses are the easy entry point. Resort courses cost more and reward a full day. Nine hole courses are the best value for beginners, juniors and anyone short on time.
Booking and pace
Book tee times online where possible, arrive twenty minutes early, and take the shorter tees. Twilight rates after mid afternoon are usually the cheapest round of the day.
What to check before you drive
Cart policy, dress code, whether the range is open, and whether the course is walkable. Not every course is.
