I recently had my first appointment at Shoko Optical for an eye exam and new glasses, and overall I had a very positive experience.
The team was timely with my appointment and very thorough in explaining my options. They clearly outlined what my insurance would cover, what it wouldn’t, and the cost differences for each option, which I really appreciated. Barb and Dr. Riesterer were especially patient and responsive to my questions. I’m someone who likes to gather a lot of information and be collaborative in my healthcare decisions, and they both adapted well to that. I felt heard, informed, and involved in the process.
One small note for management: I don’t know if this situation was unique to me, but I noticed that I didn’t receive an appointment reminder. It didn’t become an issue, but since many companies send reminders automatically these days, it might be something to look into.
Overall, I appreciated the professionalism, transparency, and patient-centered approach. I would definitely recommend Shoko Optical.
Show moreI’ve only been seen here once since moving to west bend. Good staff and nice doctors. . Only issue is I can never get through when I call. It goes right to voicemail every single time. I had to call once to reschedule cause their doctor wasn’t in. It took me 5 times to finally get through. Today is a Wednesday afternoon and I have a quick question about my up coming apt and I tried three times and can’t get through. Maybe their phones are super busy but it’s a little annoying.

I was requesting. I was previously w/ my eye dr. for 25 years, so I was looking for a new "home" Thank you Douglas O. You were Fabulous! & Nicole Amidon (optomotrist) was fantastic.
