Fantastic restaurant with one of the best views in the area. If the weather cooperates, definitely request a table outside - the patio overlooks beautiful Lake Waramaug scenery and makes the entire experience feel special. The food is always excellent. A must-visit if you're in the area.

Had not been back to the Hopkins Inn and restaurant in 30 years and it remains one of my favorite places to stay and dine. The rooms are period in layout and that remains part of the charm and authenticity. Our dinner and breakfast experiences were outstanding with well prepared and presented plates. Hospitality abounds and we felt welcomed and well attended to. Hope to be back when we return to the area.

We visited here on a beautiful sunny summer day. Had lunch. Beautiful atmosphere, incredibly delicious food, casual attentive service. Live music under the lush canopy of trees overlooking the lake was an amazing experience! They have a wine shop across which felt like a vacation shopping spot! We loved picking a few local specialty items! Will definitely visit again!

Reservations mean you have a table RESERVED for a set time. I made reservations for Mother's Day for 4 at 6p, arrived at the host stand at 5:57p. I gave my name and was told you can either sit at this table (across from the kitchen door and in almost the hall) or the bar... Seeing as I don't like to make a fuss with people who handle my food we reluctantly took the table. Being outside of the kitchen it was loud and busy but the few times staff from the kitchen came out dirty it just really took the experience down. The water and menus arrive quickly and we place our order, food comes out in a bit but not unreasonable amount of time (missing bread for our escargot). But our waiter is just gone, never comes back but I noticed him a few times across the dining room. Another waiter comes to check on us maybe 15 minutes after all 4 are done and just obviously waiting. Then this is now our waiter and we over hear a few of the wait-staff talking about an MIA waiter. Needless to say this was FAR from the fine dining experience we had hoped for and we will not be back.

We celebrated mother's day here and we could not have found a better place than the iconic Hopkins Restaurant. The food and service was excellent and complimented their amazing location. Max was our host, and he kept the food coming with his super warm smile and energy. We will be back here for more celebrations.
