Incredible experience. I was only able to spend 2 hours in this book heaven. Easily could have spent double that. Somewhat disorganized but fantastic anyway
New, used, rare, and antiquarian books, with art and music
Driftless Books and Music is a book store in Viroqua offering new, used, rare, and antiquarian books. We also feature art, sculptures, and a play area for children, alongside magazines and records. We buy, seek, and trade books, records, magazines, and art, and conduct custom book searches. We also accept donations of these items and offer free kid's books.

This is a destination day trip for me. Almost a 3 hour drive but worth it everytime! Not only is the drive there beautiful in any season it is a place to wander and lose yourself inside. You never know what you will find there and that is the best part...because it's really about what finds you. Sometimes places have their own energy and space. This is one of those. Please go and explore this historic and intriguing place. One of my favorites. Plus the town of Viroqua holds even more gems within. ❤️
I’m not one to always look at reviews, sometimes I’ll wing it sometimes I’ll endlessly dig to decide to go or not. This is a place that even if you didn’t see how amazing it was in reviews you’d be so glad you stopped, I know I was. Absolutely huuuuge place with so many books on a variety of topics , seriously there’s something for everyone here, to the point of Amish romance, I didn’t even know that was a thing! I picked up some books and magazines on art and woodworking personally but there’s history, storytelling, biographies, languages, arts, food, teen, children, you name it they’ve got it! And it’s rather well organized for the majority of it, some parts were a little chaotic but few and far between. They also have art and sculptures around randomly along with seating sections. It got to be a little overwhelming for my husband with the sheer amount of books in this place but I was a kid in a candy shop! A must stop!
What a treasure! This place has so many books and such a unique vibe! There are many paintings and sculptures, and a play area for children. Unfortunately, I did not find most of what I was looking for. I was hoping to complete a couple collections, and find a few books I read in my younger days, but I did manage to find a book with the complete Hans Christian Andersen collection and a Dragonlance book (that now gives me another set I need to complete, lol). Well worth visiting! Be sure to check out the art garden outside and the other historical buildings in the area while you're here!
This place is magical! There are books upon books upon books, with something for everyone. With so many categories, from cookbooks and YA books, music and more. You could easily spend an entire day here and still not browse through everything. I was able to find three books—one for my best friend and two for myself! And while you might be able to find a specific book, I promise you will not walk out empty handed!
