Had a really lovely experience here. Very accommodating of my needs (on a bike, early arrival, etc.) and so friendly on the phone and in person. It's a older house and I also found the accommodations charming. The baked goods for breakfast are so so good, they are lucky I didn't take the whole basket home with me! There are also plenty of little restaurants and shops in walking distance and a nice local grocery store. This stay was the best part of the rain changing my itinerary!

We recently spent a night at the Simsbury 1820 house. The hotel is charming (if a bit worn) and the staff were very friendly. The bar was fun, there was a World Cup game going on and it was a lively crowd. Our room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable, however the cleanliness of our room was not satisfactory. Several items were sticky and dirty, the carpet had not been properly cleaned and there was considerable dust on the baseboards and the bathroom floor. The sheets had holes in them and the ripped feather topper had some tape over it to prevent the feathers from spilling out. At checkout we brought these issues to the attention of the desk clerk. She didn’t seem to believe us until we showed her some photos we took of the room. At this point she admitted that the hotel had been very busy and that the room needed a deep cleaning. There was no thank you for letting her know about the issues nor was there an apology for the room’s condition.

Beautiful old house in a great location in Simsbury. Employees were very friendly and helpful. The rooms have some great old furniture, carpets and curtains. They just need more cleaning, dusting, and vacuuming. The room needed several repairs to molding or paint

Had the opportunity to photograph part of a wedding day here last December, including the getting ready moments and first look. The property has a really elegant and cozy atmosphere, and the spaces photograph beautifully.

The Simsbury 1820 house is a charming historic hotel located in the heart of Simsbury. It is conveniet to the main walking paths and restaurants, banks, etc. Located on the main town road but offset. The rooms are styled to its 1820 appearance and feature marble tiled floors. That comes wirh good and bad. Walls are thin and you could hear noise from above and below. The beds were quite squeaky if you tossed. Outlets are sparse and TVs have old cable technology. The breakfast is more than a basic continental and they provide bagels, pre-wrapped sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches, individual cereals, pastries, apples, oranges, juices, and a high tech machine for coffee and tea. Toiletries are also provided and are fairly basic. You'll want to bring your own lotion and soap (particularly if you don't want to use your own). Service was fine and they are quick to encourage you not to use housekeeping. With that said, service was kind and friendly. They were handling a large wedding party the weekend I was there.
