Five stars for the restaurant at Whistling Straits, where the whiskey bar appears to have been assembled by people who looked at the concept of “enough” and decided it was a coward’s word. There is not much this place is lacking in the whiskey department. You could wander in looking for one good pour and emerge several hours later with a philosophical problem and a strong opinion about Kentucky. And then there are the fish & chips, which arrived looking innocent enough and proceeded to completely destroy any argument against eating fried food beside a magnificent golf course. Superb fish, righteous crunch, proper chips, and the kind of meal that makes you briefly consider abandoning civilization and living permanently within walking distance of the kitchen. A dangerous combination: excellent whiskey, superb fish & chips, and a golf course outside that looks like it was designed by a committee of beautiful lunatics. Five stars, no complaints, and a firm recommendation to arrive hungry and leave your better judgment somewhere in the parking lot.
