My [young] brother-in-law passed away unexpectedly and we had his entire funeral events at First Reformed with Pastor Brad, led with the team at Wenig Funeral home. He answered my emails I had prior to the service, but he made the entire process seamless for my sister and her boys and Mike's parents. When someone who has been fortunate to live long enough to watch his youngest just graduate high school, but in the same breath, hasn't lived long enough to see what his boys are going to do with their lives. Somehow in the midst of all our silence because we can't find the right words to say, he somehow found just the right versus to read from the Bible. It wasn't just what he read, it was how he read them. We clung onto every word because he spoke them as if they were his own feelings and beliefs and as if he wrote the words himself. While it may have been no big deal to him, it's a big deal to us. This was just a piece of the healing process to learn and guide us on how to celebrate a life well lived while grieving for the life we just lost. Thank you Pastor Brad for being a source for healing in the midst of all our grief. -L
