Prattling on about Provisions’ perfection would be redundant given the reviews. Yes, you can create an extraordinary croissant. But you can’t manufacture an extraordinary staff. That’s what deserves five stars. Sam, the manager, and Jack, the assistant manager, set the tone. What impresses me most is that I have never seen either of them standing still. A truly good manager is willing to do anything he would ask his staff to do, and they are. Bussing tables, changing the garbage, putting out clean water glasses, helping a customer, straightening a table. Nothing seems beneath them, and nothing seems to go unnoticed. That attitude carries through the entire staff: Marra, Elise, Luke, Finbar, and Maddy. The friendliness, kindness, and consideration feel genuine, and together they create an atmosphere that is increasingly hard to find. Then there is the space itself. The tables, layouts, and different seating arrangements somehow manage to feel both intimate and communal. There are cozy corners for conversation and setups made for roundtable discussion. It’s a natural gathering place for friends over coffee, a book club, a business meeting, a workshop, a planning session, a casual celebration, or simply a few people who want to sit around a table and talk. Without this incredible staff, though, the atmosphere would not be the same. Beautiful food and a beautiful space can only take you so far. The people are what make you want to come back. Creating an excellent work environment that shines through to every person who walks in the door is an accomplishment. Under the roof of the bustling White Hart Inn, Sam, Jack, and this staff have created the warmth and familiarity of a small-town café. That may be Provisions’ greatest accomplishment.

We come here every year and could not love it more. The care they show for our dogs is exceptional. It is hard these days to find food and lodging that is worth the money, but I always know when I stay here it is completely worth it. I have never been disappointed.

*This is for the restaurant, the tavern. Very good food made with care with fresh ingredients. Staff; the host, bartenders and wait staff, always friendly and polite. We always feel welcomed there. The host always recognizes us each time we visit for dinner. Cozy atmosphere with New England style. Cozy fireplace too during winter months. If I didn't live in the area and was visiting, I'd definitely stay at the inn. I recommend checking The White Hart.

Wonderful quintessential Inn and restaurant with bar. Food is delightful, people and staff friendly, top of the line service. Large stone hearth, fireplace roaring, with tables and cute wooden nook bench with large table in front of fire in bar area. Always locals coming in greeting each other as if it was the place to meet with a smile a going ons of day, or of late. Feels homey and cheerful. Felt like a local, that's how welcoming they are, no silent awkwardnesses. The rooms upstairs in this inn are beautiful and have a country, colonial, a bit Victorian antique centered design. Love the entire town and people are splendid from days of past feeling, from the library to private pharmacy. The grocery store is healthy, fresh, with an integrated style, picture smaller and more charming and warm than Wholefoods mixed with a Californian like, relaxed vibe. All in walking distance from one another. Salisbury and Twin Lakes are charming and graceful. Plenty of hiking trails up mountains with ravenes, waterfalls and swim holes or pockets nestled between giant glorious rocks, boulders, and mounts to look up to,with tall trees all about, and the sound of water falls and rambling brooks communing with the forest. Mount Regis/Falls. Farms and pastures for animals to roam, I hope still, are part of the best place to be in CT.
