Pleasant Prairie RecPlex is a sports activity location in Pleasant Prairie. We are the largest municipal recreation facility in America, situated on the shores of Lake Andrea in Prairie Springs Park. Our facility features multiple basketball and volleyball courts, a weight room with cardio machines, a suspended indoor track, pools, a hot tub, and a sauna. We offer access to an Aqua Arena, which includes a small waterpark, and our pools are regularly used for swim meets. We also provide program registration.
This place is very nice we love going there as the seats around the pool are good and allows us to see the kids swimming, also they have a small Waterpark inside and nice pond it gives you a feeling that you are in some kind of vacation. The people there are always welcoming and very prepared to welcome the events . Their pool is always clean and ready .

It was probably plenty big back when they built it. But with the changing times and physical fitness becoming very popular this place is often bursting at the seams with people.
They may have plenty of courts for volleyball/ basketball, but as far as their physical fitness area, it’s been outgrown for a long time. Not unusual to have to walk between people working out on the floor to get to the machines/ lockers. Can’t hardly blame them since there is very little dedicated space to accommodate ground work. Not uncommon that all the treadmills are taken. I haven’t found a consistent time where it’s not overly busy. But for random times it’s been dead it’s a gem .

Another CCIW Swim Conference Championship 2026 in the books! Wonderful facility and pool! So fun to watch my daughter compete representing Augustana College in her Junior year.

The facility has a lot to offer like a weight room with cardio machines, a suspended in door track, multiple basketball courts, pools, a hot tub and sauna. However, the price out is not worth it. They charge extra for member parking, and if you work out in the evenings or on weekends, you have to compete for parking with non-members who utilize the facility for sporting events.
They are slow to repair equipment and have limited strength equipment. If you like to lift heavy, their barbells are not ideal for serious lifters/strength athletes. It always feels crowded in the weight room. If you work a regular work schedule, you can only utilize the facility before or after work, the pools and basketball courts are constantly being utilized for men's basketball leagues and volleyball games, while the pools are always taken for swim meets.
They have reduced hours the day prior to a holiday, and often close for federal holidays due to being a municipality. Overall, the facility is nice and has a lot to offer, but if you only want to lift heavy and stay active, there are better options available at a more reasonable cost and you won't be wasting money by not getting the full experience.

My husband and I go there just for the gym. When there is events/games happening, it is impossible for members to find parking if they don’t have a members parking pass. I’ve asked many times when the member parking passes will become available and have continued to be told different dates and a reason why they don’t have them. I completely understand why they have to keep the gate down into there. And I understand it isn’t the RecPlex fault, but they should come up with an alternative for members to park in the membership parking lot since this is a prolonged issue. Other than this, we love it there. Everyone is so nice and the gym is great!
