A truly special place. There are many well regarded and well known restaurants and casual places to eat across Connecticut, but this was the highlight of our trip. I think if we didn’t have an itinerary to follow we would have stayed for hours. If they put a bookstore adjacent to Penny Farthing it could be a day long destination lol. Plan a sunny day trip to take advantage of the outdoor seating. The hot cinnamon spice tea was sublime and the chicken tikka masala pastie was perfection.

We found this place today and we enjoyed it so much! Lovely ambiance, flowers all around, beautiful landscaping, outdoor and indoor seating. The food was top notch and fairly priced. My son enjoyed his chicken tikka masala pasty to the max! We had roast beef and egg salad sandwiches - delightful and masterfully made on exquisite French bread. Yum! But the desserts. The desserts were luscious. We sampled several - chocolate cake (omg!), the best chocolate chip scone ever baked, a massive chocolate chip coookie, and a shortbread bar covered in caramel and chocolate - wow! The service was friendly and quick. Everything about this place was so lovely, and my kids are already asking when we can go back. Thank you!!

I had such a blast of visiting this cute little Tea Room. I order The Balmoral After on Tea for two, upon this photo there are a wide variety of break goods and sandwiches. I enjoy the scones as they were freshly baked and soft, Personally I do love the peach passion tea. ask for Debs, she is the co owner of this wonderful shop.

Penny Farthing more than lived up to the hype! It’s ran by really sweet ladies that clearly have put so much thought into the space. From the homemade desserts to the steak and Guinness pastie, generously sized tea sandwiches, and tasty quiche, we were so impressed. It’s nice to know that you can stop in to grab a quick pastry or tea to go as well. We had such a special day celebrating my mom’s birthday here, and we will definitely be back!

Truly such a delightful experience from start to finish. Sometimes going out on Valentine’s Day can be tricky and often disappointing. This, however, was beyond lovely. The moment you walk in you are taken aback by how quaint and picturesque everything is (and clean for that matter). Well lit and welcoming, the staff is equally as bright and cheerful. We had the Valentine’s Day menu that was honestly such a great deal because you get so much food. Even though the sandwiches look tiny, they are very flavorful and filling. The tea cups and pots are ornate and beautiful. Everything seems to have been selected with love and intention. However, I’d go back again just to be surrounded by their energy. They greeted every customer like an old friend, and by the looks of it, a lot of customers are friends of theirs. Who wouldn’t want to be with vibes like that? 100/10 would recommend.
