We’ve been coming to Minocqua for many years but never went to this spot. We’re glad we did! Excellent atmosphere with beautiful lake view+ cool decorations near the front desk. Service was efficient and friendly, and I polished off my crab cakes which were delicious and high quality. We had carrot cake and brandy Alexander for dessert and both were delicious as expected. Overall, a pleasant surprise and we look forward to returning!

Our party of 6 arrived without a reservation and the staff said we would be seated in a half hour. We got drinks from the bar and enjoyed the comfy chairs in the waiting area until our table was ready. After being seated our server Bailey was very attentive to our needs and requests. We liked the variety of entrees on the menu. Our dinners came with a visit to the salad bar. It was smaller than the traditional Wisconsin supper club salad bar but adequate, with a mix of salad elements and dressings. For my entree, I ordered the walleye dinner with the fish broiled. It was excellent, with a generous walleye fillet covered with their lemon cream sauce. My dining partners were equally pleased with their entrees, which came with choice of potato and seasonal vegetable. The atmosphere was pleasant and brighter than a traditional supper club, probably due to the lake-facing windows. Owing to the physical layout of the tables, it is not the place for a quiet romantic dinner for two but a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Our group highly recommends it.

If you're ever in Minocqua, you MUST go to the Knotty Barrel Supper Club! Excellent food, superb service, delicious drinks! I hear the owner is from out east and his specialty is Maryland Crab Cakes so that's exactly what I ordered instead of the "go-to" fish fry for our last Friday in town. It was served with a roasted red pepper remoulade. All I can say is WOW! It was so good! I also chose the chef's vegetable, rather than potato, which happened to be broccoli that night. It was prepared perfectly - not hard, not soggy. The salad bar was a nice, homey touch too with lots of dressings to choose from. Kaicee was our congenial server who was knowledgeable, friendly, upbeat and easy to talk to. For this Illinois gal who usually always orders an Old Fashioned when in Wisconsin, I decided to change it up a bit and order the Lemon Drop Martini. I was NOT disappointed - this drink was delightful! Everything was top notch at this establishment. They're on top of their game there!

If you’re looking for that classic Northwoods supper club experience done right, Knotty Barrel Supper Club absolutely delivers. We kicked things off with two perfectly crafted Old Fashioneds, balanced and smooth, exactly what you want when settling in for a true Wisconsin supper club night. From there, we shared the Brussels sprouts with bacon, which were packed with flavor and the perfect start to the meal. For entrées, we both went with the filet, cooked to a flawless medium rare, tender, juicy, and clearly high quality. The thinly sliced potatoes and vegetables alongside were classic and delicious. One of the standout touches was the salad bar, such a nostalgic and welcome addition that you just don’t see as often anymore. It really adds to that authentic supper club charm. The decor was outstanding and truly a nod to everything you would expect in a Northwoods restaurant, warm wood tones, rustic touches, and that cozy, classic supper club feel that makes the whole experience even more memorable. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. The server was great at helping accommodate gluten free requests. Sitting back and enjoying a great meal with that Northwoods scenery is exactly what you hope for when dining in Minocqua. A spot we would happily return to again and again.

If you’re looking for that perfect hit of Wisconsin nostalgia, Knotty Barrel Supper Club nailed it! The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a supper club: warm, welcoming, and timeless. The beer battered walleye fish fry was easily a highlight! It was fresh, perfectly crispy, and served with cottage fries which were a unique fry I’d never had before! We also tried the crab mac and cheese, which was rich and creamy. Pro tip: Save plenty of room for the after-dinner ice cream drinks! They are absolutely massive and delicious! We will definitely be back!
