My family and I went to Tupelo Honey on Friday, June 5th at 2:40 pm. to celebrate a kiddos birthday. The establishment is beautiful I’ll say. But the staff, not so great. We are greeted several minutes or so after entering, but greeted is used loosely. We were seated by the manager, Tonya at the bar but we asked to move to a booth. We had already been in the restaurant for at least 15 minutes, or so, and there were about 3 tables at the time we were there. We asked our server, James about a lunch special and if it was still honored, James immediately had attitude, and was not friendly in the slightest. We were not upset at all that we weren’t able to have the lunch specials, but with the way James spoke to us. We’ve never been spoken to this way by anyone in the restaurant industry. We were shocked and at a loss for words. We asked for a new server, he snapped back and told us he was the only server. He walked away and told the bartender he “was not taking us.” His tone and attitude was extremely disrespectful. And seeing him walk away while we were talking to him, to then go to Tonya and complain about us in plain sight was shocking. Tonya also clearly agreed with him, we could tell as we saw her say to him “well they wanted to move seats” etc. the unprofessionalism of the manager Tonya and the server is the worst I’ve ever ever witnessed. Hailey, our new server was wonderful. She was friendly, kind, & recommended some things to try and did an amazing job. She deserves a raise and then some. I’m very unpleased by the manager, Tonya and the waiter, James. No apology, no nothing. I would never step foot in this establishment ever again, no matter how good the food is. The amount of disrespect was shocking. Thanks Hailey for turning it around for us! You were awesome and thank you for celebrating with us!
