Classic American fare in a clubby, refined setting
Have visited a Capital Grill in the Chicago area before, which was excellent. This one in the downtown Milwaukee area was no exception. Exceptional customer service by the bartender who served me at the bar during happy hour. The shrimp dish was delicious and the great atmosphere was warm and attractive.
My experience at The Capital Grille is always immaculate and premium.The atmosphere is consistently relaxing and perfectly dimmed, making it an ideal location for a dinner date. I particularly enjoy sitting at the bar to have a glass of your famous Pinot Noir, which is exceptionally flavorful and smooth. Regarding the menu, the lamb chops are a 10/10 favorite of mine—I always prefer them butterflied and well-done. Combined with the sides lobster mac and cheese or potatoes, it makes for a fantastic main course. Walkins are welcoming if you want to be seated reservations are required! Thank you for maintaining such high standards and providing a top-tier dining experience.

We went to this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was very good, especially the meat, which was cooked perfectly and of excellent quality. The atmosphere is that of a typical American steakhouse: welcoming, but not particularly elegant. The service from the waiters was adequate, but not outstanding for a place of this level. Unfortunately, the evening was negatively affected by a very large and particularly noisy family seated next to us. This made it difficult to enjoy a calm and romantic dinner, especially on such a special occasion as an anniversary. Overall, the food quality was excellent, but the experience was less enjoyable in terms of service and atmosphere.
I started with the oysters, and they were outstanding—icy cold, briny, and impeccably fresh. The bone-in ribeye was the star. Perfectly seared with a beautiful crust, rich beefy flavor, and a tender, juicy center cooked precisely to temperature. The Old Fashioned was expertly made—silky, gently aromatic, and not overly sweet. Great balance, clear ice, and a slow, satisfying sip that paired surprisingly well with both the oysters and the steak. Service was attentive without hovering; our server had thoughtful suggestions and spot-on timing.
