After weeks of saying, “We should really try those famous lobster rolls,” we finally did. One bite in and it became very clear why people keep talking about them. If comfort food and seafood had a love child, this would be it... Buttered Brioche roll (or in a lettuce shell), generous chunks of lobster, crispy fries, a side of coleslaw and absolutely zero regrets. This is a popular public market that offers a good mix of local Wisconsin foods and vendors. You'll find fresh produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, seafood, coffee, and a variety of prepared foods. It's a fun place to walk around and sample local products, especially if you're visiting Milwaukee for the first time. However, it can get extremely crowded. Parking was difficult to find, and the restroom lines were surprisingly long. The market was also smaller than I expected, and there weren't as many food vendors or dining options as I had anticipated. Most of the space is dedicated to fresh produce and local goods, while souvenir shopping options were fairly limited. Overall, it's worth a visit for the local atmosphere and food selection, but I wouldn't plan to spend an entire day there.
We drove close to two hours just to get to this restaurant. My son, his friend, and I were all seafood snobs, and this place was right up there with the best quality and flavors we’ve ever had. My son’s friend, who had never tried seafood before, absolutely loved it! She got her lobster, and my son got crab legs and the best halibut I’ve ever had. My friend also got the halibut, and I got a dozen of all the regions’ raw oysters. We’re planning to go back this Sunday to buy a couple of pounds of halibut. It was so tender! The only complaint was that some of the crab legs had no meat inside, so my son was a bit disappointed. Despite that, the service was great, and we had a wonderful time. See you all soon! Ps. Fun shopping, souvenirs and dining options. You can walk around and explore all of the local vendors with a cocktail in hand. If you’re with a group, everyone could find a restaurant that suits their taste and meet back up to sit and enjoy a meal together. There’s plenty of available seating upstairs to relax with an elevator to accommodate second floor access. Would definitely go back the next time we are in town!
