Midwest Sad is comfort food. We've been coming here for months now and have tried a wide variety of the menu. The desserts are highlights and are a reason to come on their own. We particularly like their pistachio pudding and their cinnamon buns. In addition, their biscuits and sausage gravy and egg salad sandwich are standouts. Also love their build-a-breakfast sandwich with a biscuit bun and chili oil. The servers are friendly. The owner is often there behind the counter and will happily chat with you. We highly recommend what we hope will become a Milwaukee staple.

Such a cute little hole on the wall! Comforting atmosphere. The biscuits and gravy were delicious! I highly recommend it after seeing a social media post with lots of commenters recommending this place for it, so I am so glad that I went. The banana pudding was good, but not $10. Good. I’m excited to return and try more.

This place is a cozy lunch and dinner cafe with counter seating and regular tables, live music some nights, and excellent cupcakes and cookies. Their pudding is particularly underrated, but if you try anything from this menu, you MUST try the egg salad. Best egg salad I've ever had in my life, the dill and chili oil really make it spectacular and unique. Their sandwiches are fresh and the portions are excellent for the price. This place is absolutely a step above any place open for casual lunch and dinner nearby by far.

I absolutely love this place. The biscuits and gravy are so good and you absolutely can't go wrong with the banana pudding. The cinnamon rolls are just a little slice of heaven and the pistachio pudding is one of the best things I have ever eaten. Not only is the food amazing but the atmosphere is on point. The owner couldn't be nicer and all the employees I have met have been the coolest. Could not recommend more.

You ever eat food and do a little happy dance cause it's so good? Well we did when we visited Midwest Sad. Biscuits and Gravy oh my god. Mr. Butters Special... delicious. BANANA PUDDING?! So good we drove back immediately after we finished ours at home 😅 def recommend going here. Friendly service, beautiful location, and great food.
