Milwaukee taproom in a converted 1880s church building
Stopped in during a long weekend trip to hit breweries. Almost skipped this as they distribute to my area so I’ve had some of their beers. But I’m glad I made the stop because the space is what makes it. As others have noted, they are using a converted 1880s church. Bright high ceilings with clean white finishing, but keeping the history in tact. The tap list was mostly their retail offerings, but they did have a couple one-off brews.
Great, second, location. The Central Waters beers are always excellent - especially the barrel-aged stouts! Milwaukee team was solid. Sat at the bar, and quick, friendly, service. Some really superb beers for sale, to go, as well. Parking can be a little tricky difficult to find, and might take a trip aroun the block or two before you land a spot. The food joint, hooked up right next door. Trouble Makers Cocina, offering Mexican-inspired food, is onsite and the Chicken Tinga Nacho Platter hit the spot.
Great brews from sours to stouts. Every Central Waters brew is top notch. Love the location. Old church building is unique. Head north for a more rustic setting I'm Amherst Junction area. That's usually where we go. Nice to know we have this option when we visit Milwaukee.
Central Waters in Milwaukee’s Brewery District is a standout. The quality and selection of brews, especially their world class barrel-aged stouts are incredible. It has a fun, comfortable vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. A top-tier spot for any beer enthusiast looking for excellence in a relaxed setting.
The Mexican food here was amazing! We didn’t expect the food to be that good. The brewery is very spacious and a very comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely come back here when in town to eat and have a few beers
