Atmosphere/Productivity: This coffee shop has fabulous windows that lets in lots of sunlight when the weather is nice. There’s lots of seating including at the counter where you order. I did not work in this coffee shop but I noticed pretty much everyone else was working so seems like a very productive environment. It was definitely a great atmosphere to read a book! The Coffee: I was very intrigued with the seasonal lattes on their menu and struggled to pick between 3 - the Cherry Cola, Pineapple Carmel, and Root Beer. I ordered a 12 oz. Root Beer latte but would love to come back and try the other two. It was a great latte - 8.5/10. The Root Beer was more subtle than I thought it would be but I could definitely taste it. The espresso was more profound and lingers on your palette for a while. The Service: I was greeted by Dalia (hopefully I spelled her name correctly!) when I entered and she let me know she’d be right with me to take my order. As mentioned, I was undecided between 3 lattes and Dalia walked me through the flavor profile of each one until I landed on the Root Beer. Pricing: Total price with tip was about $9.60. Bathrooms: There are two individual use bathrooms Overall great coffee shop- I gave five stars solely due to the boldness of their creativity with their seasonal lattes. I love forward thinking cafes- they provide you with an unforgettable experience!

Pricey. I’m not convinced that the prices were worth the taste. Especially in the paper cups - I do admit that I’m somewhat of a tea snob. They do have some unique blends and they were nice, but I feel that a nice tea cup would elevate the experience. Cold Brew Friend had the coffee - he said it was good. But he’s not a coffee snob. Lol. Meadow tea Pleasant. Feels very herbal, and familiar. Carrot tea I have burdock tea all the time and the carrot tea tasted very similar to it. Marshmallow tea So I learned today that marshmallow is not the fluffy sweet white thing that goes in the middle of a s’more. Marshmallow tea was definitely unique, and I quite enjoyed it. Barista/tea brewer was working alone and working fast through the orders. But during a busier time, she might have trouble keeping up. Very nice, and not too chatty.

Yet again, my commitment to local coffee paid off when I was in Milwaukee for a conference at the Baird Center. This shop is just a couple blocks away (yes, I walked past a Starbucks to get there). Nice vibe, delicious coffee, and friendly service. I will definitely return if I get the chance (they have many intriguing seasonal drinks, I would love to try a few). And bonus: they're open late, until 9 pm!

I can’t say enough good things about Canary Coffee Bar in Milwaukee! This was my absolute favorite hangout spot when I was living in Milwaukee and going to college. My friend and I would come here all the time to study, and it holds a special place in my heart. So much so that even though I don’t live in Milwaukee anymore, I make a point to stop in when I visit the area. The coffee is just impeccable. Every flavor and recipe is so unique and delicious. They had a cereal milk latte on their menu once that was just to die for! And when they switched over to their new seasonal menu, the staff was sweet enough to make me a drink off the old menu because they still had the items to do so at the time. Not to mention, every coffee is picture perfect as you can tell by the photos I’ve attached. The atmosphere is bright, fun, and perfect for getting work done or just relaxing all day. What really sets this place apart though is the owner, Colin. He is one of the most genuine, down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. Every time we walked in (even if it had been awhile) he remembered exactly what we’d talked about before and always asked how life was going. He made us feel seen, cared for, and truly at home. I’m giving Canary Coffee Bar a full five stars. If you’re in Milwaukee, do not miss this gem. It’s more than just coffee; it’s a community.

We’ve come here many times, and it’s one of my favorite coffee shops in Milwaukee. They’re one of the few coffee shops with hours in the evening, which is really nice. Their seasonal drinks are excellent (such as the pictured Black Forest latte). Their basic latte is one of the best in Milwaukee, and their espresso retains the complexities of the beans.
