Birch is such a fantastic spot, and deserves so much more attention than it seems it is getting. We ate there on a Friday night with a 5:30pm reservation. Lola was our waitress and she was FABULOUS. Recommended a special wine by the glass to try and it was incredible, sad part about their wine offerings are they often get bottles that are extremely difficult to come by, but that’s part of the fun, no generic Daou is served here. Food was incredible. Crudo and squash appetizers. Pork and pasta mains. And chocolate torte for dessert (+ an obligatory espresso martini, real espresso and all the refined touches to make the pickiest espresso martini connoisseur proud). Will return for the pasta and service alone. Thanks Lola!

We had an absolutely wonderful diner at Birch. We did the seasonal tasting menu and were beyond delighted. We tried to decide what our favorite thing was and could not figure it out. Typically there are one or two things that are in a tasting that are “okay” but everything in this menu was great. And the service from Kelsey H brought the whole meal together. This was our first visit but we will be back for sure!

An overall solid dining experience with several highlights that showcased Birch’s seasonal, farm-driven approach. The farm salad and zucchini were standout opening bites, with creative seasoning and preparation that brought out the freshness of the vegetables. The scallop was another highlight with refreshing flavors, while the spelt spaghetti was smaller in portion but well executed. The focaccia was a bit too oily for my taste, and the space can get quite loud, which takes away from some of the intimacy. The service was lovely nonetheless, and an overall thoughtful seasonal meal that celebrates fresh ingredients, with a few details that could be refined.

After having Birch on my “want to try” list for months, my partner and I decided to give it a try. We ended up doing the tasting menu and were left somewhat disappointed. Not sure if we ended up coming on an off night or something but the pacing was incredibly off. We ended up waiting between 15-20 minutes for our first entree to come out and our focaccia pairing was almost completely forgotten. The flavors were okay for everything, the steak and walleye were the standout stars of the night. Wine selection is impressive and delicious. Overall, I think I was just left expecting more. Portion sizes are small, flavors are good but nothing extraordinary. Nice atmosphere for date night, will try again in a few months.

We chose Birch to celebrate a bachelorette. From from the atmosphere to the service, everything was excellent and so much attention was given to detail. We went with the tasting course, and I was pleasantly surprised that there was an ability to accommodate for being vegetarian. Overall a magical experience and would love to go back.
