Lallande — you were phenomenal! Delicious is simply not a good enough word for this experience. ❤️ We’re visiting Madison from Dubai, and after having some wonderful meals here, Lallande truly stood out. We started with the buttery escargots — honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had! The pork on bread was something different and absolutely delicious, and the cherry sauce on the side hit just the right spot. For mains, we ordered the halibut, which was excellent, and the duck. The duck was a little chewy for me, but the flavors, gravy and sides all came together beautifully. And then came one of my favorite parts of the evening — our server brought us a complimentary beet dish. She mentioned that we had apparently ordered it, but since we hadn’t, she decided to give it to us anyway so we could experience the flavors. What a thoughtful gesture! The beets were so delicious, and we were genuinely touched that she wanted us to try them. For drinks, we had a Pinot Noir, which was lovely, and the White Negroni, which was completely new to me. If you enjoy a strong cocktail, I highly recommend trying it! Of course, dessert was the Basque cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious. We were already full, but it looked so tempting — and after everything we had eaten being so good, there was no way we were leaving without dessert! 😂 And finally, a HUGE shout-out to our server. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive and genuinely thoughtful. That little gesture with the beets really made an impression on us. Honestly, I haven’t experienced this level of personal, thoughtful service during our travels in America so far. Lallande, thank you for such a memorable evening. The food, the flavors, the service and those little thoughtful touches made this one of our favorite Madison dining experiences. Highly recommend!

A delightful French-inspired bistro with a seasonal, locally sourced menu. Many of the offerings are rooted in French cuisine, with an eclectic mix of influences from throughout the country. The well-executed dishes allow the fresh ingredients to be the stars while showcasing the chefs’ technical expertise. The waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, but never overbearing. C'est une expérience culinaire délicieuse.

Sat at the bar, so I got to watch the kitchen staff. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I got some fish wrapped in a puff pastry. I don't even normally care for fish and I certainly don't order it at a restaurant but I was intrigued by it being in a puff pastry. Oh my, was it delicious! I thought about that fish for DAYS. And honestly it was so good that it far outshined everything else I ate. The scalloped potatoes (tarte tatin) were forgettable and maybe even a little undercooked. And the dessert was good (I think I had a chocolate cake?), but considering Bloom, I was expecting amazing. The French onion soup was very delicious and even the beets amuse-bouche was yum. The atmosphere was fantastic. All in all, it was a great experience, even though it wasn't a perfect experience (looking at you, potatoes).

We had 5:15pm reservations and sat at the bar for our anniversary dinner. We had some complimentary sparkling wine and an amuse bouche to start (they brought out an NA version for my husband since he doesn’t drink), the mushroom/chèvre galette, artichoke tapenade, French onion soup, duck, rabbit, beets, and chocolate cake. I also had the mezcal/chartreuse cocktail and the rye cocktail. Everything was phenomenal. One of the best meals I’ve had in Madison so far.

We had such an amazing meal and experience here! The staff, everyone from the moment we walked in until we left, was incredible. We had our sleepy toddler with us and they were still and really welcoming and family friendly. Our waitress was super helpful guiding us through the menu, and everything we ate was so delicious! The owner came by to chat with us and has such a beautiful story behind the restaurant, centered around a family feel. We absolutely loved it here, will definitely be back, and encourage everyone to try it!
