Presenting exhibits and artifacts from early Land O' Lakes area history
Northern Waters Museum is a museum in Land O' Lakes showcasing people, places, stories, and artifacts from the early days of the Land O' Lakes area. We feature exhibits that change every few years, located in the Land O' Lakes Town Park. Our building was originally the rustic ski chalet for the Gateway Ski Hill, part of the King's Gateway resort complex from the late 1930s, featuring a large stone fireplace.
Chris has so much information, and so many facts and stories all in her head when she shares information about the exhibit! She’s so enthusiastic and fun to listen to. She definitely is fulfilling a calling by God, doing exactly what she’s meant to do. There’s no museum where you can get a “tour guide” like that! It’s a beautiful, historic building with exquisite craftsmanship, and beautifully designed gardens by Lois, and maintained by both of them and volunteers. The backdrop is a woodland in a peaceful area. Don’t miss it if you are in town, and make sure to leave a tip for maintaining the exhibits and the grounds!
Admission is free will donation. Lots of neat photos and short histories.
