Beautiful restaurant and good drinks, server was great. But $60 for a ribeye and it was inedible, no salt and hard/dry, i always eat my full plate and had to douse it in salt to try to force it down, ate 4 bites. Couldn’t cut it, they gave me a butter knife. hate to leave a bad review but they have to do better for the prices. Almondine walleye had 4 slivers of almond and no seasoning, tasted like chicken, it was gross. Brussels and blue cheese chips were good, solid soup.

Was not expecting this quality of food from Nortons. We arrived 30 min before our reservation and wanted to have a beverage before our fish fry. Went outside and had a nice beverage by the lake. That’s the highlight of our evening. Went back to the hostess station at our reservation time and was told to come back in a half hour or so and the table might be ready. Finally the table was ready for our dinner 45 min past our reservation time. I ordered the cod fish Friday night fish fry. Well. The best part of the meal was the tartar sauce. I ordered baked cod and received fried. The potato pancakes were just hash browns served so fried they were black. The Cole slaw was dry and had no sauce on it whatsoever. If the tartar sauce wasn’t as good as it was I would not have been able to choke down my meal. This was the worst Friday fish fry in my life. Sorry folks but Nortons has some work to do to get back to the historic great meals the Nortons of the past served.

I’ve been coming to Nortons for more than 20 years, and unfortunately this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.
We waited about an hour and a half for an outdoor table. Once we were finally seated outside, the bugs were so bad that the staff moved us inside. While we were waiting outdoors, we ordered appetizers. One appetizer was forgotten, which can happen, but even after we reminded the staff it took another 45 minutes for it to arrive.
At one point, we also waited more than 20 minutes for our drink order. We eventually noticed our drinks sitting at the bar and ended up grabbing them ourselves.
We ordered our entrees while still outside, and after being moved inside we waited more than an hour for our meals. Several dishes came out cold, and multiple orders were incorrect. It was obvious that some of the food had been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period before being served.
When we tried to discuss our concerns with the manager, he immediately became defensive. He explained that they had been extremely busy that night and said they had done their best, but also suggested the situation was our fault because we didn’t have a reservation—even though in previous years the restaurant did not accept reservations.
To his credit, he did remove several items from our bill. However, when we spoke with him, he was drinking at the bar and appeared to be intoxicated, which made the interaction even more disappointing.
I’ve always enjoyed coming to Nortons and have recommended it to others over the years, which is why this experience was so frustrating. I understand that busy nights happen, but the combination of the excessive wait, poor food quality, incorrect orders, and the manager’s handling of the situation fell well below the standard I’ve come to expect.

Although we were warned upon arrival the kitchen was backed up, and to expect a wait, our experience was excellent. We were seated next to a window with a view of the lake. Our server, Karrington, couldn't have been nicer. Even though busy, nstead of simply pointing out the restroom, she escorted me to a point where the door was in sight. She took our order for an appetizer and bottle of wine, and long before finishing (we're fast drinkers), our dinners arrived. The food was great, and reasonable priced. All in all, our evening was exceptional. We'll be back!

So my first experience into Norton’s was exceptionable… Then all of a sudden we went back on July 5 2026 to have drinks and dinner with some friends and family. Went there with a great friends and my wife on my boat and it was amazing. Good service great atmosphere at the outside bar, treats you like a person. Then all of a sudden we had reservations to eat inside met a group there and wanted to have an amazing dinner with friends and family… Then that’s where it went all wrong… Sat for 30 minutes before anybody came up and offered us anything… My wife got up and gave our entire group water filled up their glasses to the brim … sat there for another 15 minutes and the manager came up and said well hello how are you??? What did you think i I said? Well it would be nice to have a server. He said I will get one right over to you… then came up to us and said “there was a family emergency you have no server” he did withi in moments have server showed up, took our drink order and dinner order because everyone in our group knew what they wanted after studying the menu for 50 minutes. Also ask the manager for free dessert for taking so long which he agreed upon… But according to him means free ice cream… So it took another 25 minutes to get our drinks to the table… Then all of a sudden everybody’s waiting around again and we do not have no bread or salad… That again, my friend went to talk to manager which is a person that goes there all the time and expressed his concern about the slow service… Even though other tables are getting served faster than our tables… Then the manager expressed to me when I got up and asked him about the delay that it is a holiday weekend to show him respect..which it is July 5 Sunday the tourist have left. We are locals. Which then I gently put my hand against his shoulder because wanted to speak to him in his ear respectfully. He said have you ever been in the restaurant industry…Lake Geneva you just bought .I said YES my wife just serve the water to the table and my best friends own restaurants all around the neighborhood and different states. After that I respectfully left the establishment and then all of a sudden our salad showed up to the table. My wife and I walked out the door. Never again will I ever go there! Management is horrible. Service is horrible but the management is the problem… Maybe Lake Geneva should’ve never bought up in this area and you know what I am talking about, worst managerment ever!!! I guess I’ll never experience this place unless there’s new management after this nightmare .
