Cool local museum that has 4 different rooms with live people representing the past with some details memorized. Some walking required and tips appreciated.

This was so interesting. Four houses from 4 different decades. The progression is amazing to see. The first double storey house in South Africa, first indoor shower, first painted walls inside, first wallpaper. Along with all the household items. If you love history, this is a must-see. 1700 - 1850.

The museum is an ensemble of four houses from different phases of Stellenbosch's history. Guides give a short introduction to the history of the house and it's interiors. One room gives a glimpse into what slavery looked like in those times.

An interesting museum consisting of four houses you can visit with a single ticket. While it’s not in the best condition, it has great potential. The staff is very sweet and friendly. What’s disappointing is that few of the items in the museum are actually authentic to the houses on display—many of the paintings on the walls are replicas unrelated to the museum, and some objects don’t even match the historical period. Worth a visit, but don’t set your expectations too high.

4 beautifully renovated Dutch style houses from the 18th century. The house has some of the same period furnishings that made the houses more time appropriate. Very nice experience.
