Walking through the door of Rust en Vrede you can feel and see a bit of more noblesse than other wineries in the area. The service, quality and the wines live up to the initial expectations. Simple and powerful - same as the wine variety selection (syrah, cabsav, merlot only). Will try the restaurant too next time - there were quite a lot of diners on a monday lunch. Lovely experience.
Absolutely stunning setting with excellent wine and the friendliest staff. The winemakers lunch is absolutely delightful enjoying a nice meal outside under the trees. Perfectly cooked steak or salmon that comes with a paired glass of wine. A must visit when you are in Stellenbosch!
Our connection to Rust en Vrede is very special. We have been there twice now and it never ceases to amaze us. The wines are obviously superb, but the restaurant itself is a masterpiece. Our evenings were perfect and we are already counting down to our next visit in November. This place is a must for anyone visiting South Africa. For those who love fine dining and great wine, this is a sacred site. The service is what truly sets it apart. It is rare to find such a balance of professionalism and genuine warmth. We had amazing conversations and felt completely at home. Simply incredible.
We had the set menu dinner. It was so special and delicious, no words can explain it! The flavors and creations were out of this world! The service was friendly and knowledgeable. If you are looking for something special and unique, with the right setting and wine. Don't go further, this is it! It was a great experience for us and we will be back.
We had a wonderful dinner at Rust en Vrede Wine Estate. The dishes were creative and beautifully presented, and the wines were excellent. The young team was incredibly friendly and attentive. A fantastic fine dining experience in Stellenbosch – we would happily come back.
