Overall, this is a place I really wanted to love. The setting and atmosphere are genuinely beautiful, and the wine tasting experience itself was enjoyable and well put together. However, the service left a disappointing impression—one word that describes it well is unprofessional. First, we were seated outside and waited for about 20 plus minutes without anyone coming to assist us, even though staff clearly saw us. In the end, we had to go inside and place our order ourselves. That shouldn’t happen in a place of this standard. Minus 1 star Second, when we asked for a bag for a cutting board we purchased, we were told there were no large bags available—which was fine. But later, when I asked for a smaller bag (after seeing other customers receive bags for wine bottles), the response from a female staff member who appeared to be a supervisor or in a leading role was abrupt and dismissive: “no smaller bag, no smaller bag,” repeated without explanation. That interaction made the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I can’t say for certain why, but it did leave me wondering whether I was being treated differently based on how I look. I hope that’s not the case, but it’s how the situation came across. Minus 1 star (perhaps should be 2) While the location and wine are strong positives, the service experience did not match the setting. I hope this is something that can be improved, as it detracts from what could otherwise be a great visit.

Had a delightful hostess, Siphokazi at the Wine Tasting venue - she has exceptional customer centricity with a passion for doing what she does- we were truly appreciative of the entire experience from the wine tasting to purchasing experience. Thank you.

We visited Lourensford for the first time. Beautiful setting and lots of places to visit. Also wine tasting. The market was average. A pity that we couldn't go to all the sites on offer. It was the boiling hot day preventing us.

There is a lot to do. Wine tasting, gin tasting, restaurants, picking flowers, having a picnic, enjoying the best ice cream and nougat at Wedgewood, going for walks in the beautiful gardens etc. Loved this place!!

🍷 WHO IS THIS FOR? Wine lovers looking for an informative tasting experience, visitors wanting to explore a large-scale wine estate, or those seeking a relaxed outing with a nearby dining option. 🔍 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER: 1️⃣ Tasting Experience: Jason provided great insights into the wines, making it both enjoyable and educational. 2️⃣ Ambience: Visiting during harvest time added a wonderful fragrance to the air. 3️⃣ Extras: A cheese board option would enhance the experience, and there is a R20 parking fee to enter the estate. 🍇 PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: Chose Lourensford because it stays open until 6:00 p.m., making it a convenient stop. The wine tasting was well-guided, and seeing the estate operate on such a large scale was impressive. The proximity to a restaurant made it easy to transition from wine tasting to a meal before heading home. ✅ FINAL NOTES: ✔️ Informative and enjoyable wine tasting. ✔️ Beautiful setting, especially during harvest season. ❌ R20 entry fee—keep this in mind when visiting. 👉 Enjoyed this review?
