Located inside the Boschendel compound. Usually need to reserve and book but came on the low season so could just walk in. Indoor seats are available but most of the seats are outdoor. Amazing place to start the day and explore Stellenbosch
Had the line fish and pizza at Boschendal Deli and both were really good. The fish was fresh, well cooked, and full of flavour, while the pizza was simple and satisfying. Great farm-style food in a beautiful setting. Will return.
Amazing pizza and beautiful spot. We came for the food and the playground and left very happy 🥰 Highly recommended! One note: they don’t have pizza boxes, so you can’t get them for take away. But maybe you just take a seat and enjoy the quietness 😊
It seems like if you’re a person of colour you get treated less than a white person at this restaurant by certain staff members. The lady with the gold tooth didnt smile, didn’t greet us properly, didnt ask if we spoke English or Afrikaans. We don’t speak Afrikaans and don’t understand it properly but she didn’t seem to care. The sort, skinny, light skinned gentleman who brought our food also made us feel extremely unwelcome. No smile, just gave us the look - The look that people give when they don’t understand a mixed race couple!? Clearly a certain kind of people get better service and happy treatment here. I will never go back there. It’s sad that people from my own coloured community treat people like this regardless of their race, but ESPECIALLY if that person is dating a white or black person. Why????? It’s sick to say the least!! No wonder people prefer to hire non locals because they treat everyone the same and always wear a smile!! You shouldnt be working at a place like that if you can’t treat everyone with the same amount of respect and acceptance but clearly skin colour matters here and mixing with other races is a problem to your staff! Disgusting!!
A great lunch stop on the Wine Tram tour! 🍷🥩 We stopped at The Deli Restaurant for a quick bite during our Wine Tram tour. It's a lovely spot with a very relaxing atmosphere. Our experience: Steak of the Day: The meat itself was high quality and very flavorful. Although the doneness was slightly off from what we asked, the taste was absolutely excellent! Burger: A solid, tasty, and satisfying burger served with wedges. Vegetables & Sides: We were particularly pleased with the sides. The steak was accompanied by incredibly fresh vegetables and grilled corn. It’s great to see such emphasis on fresh, high-quality produce. Overall: A perfect place to refuel between tastings. Great flavors, fresh ingredients, and the beautiful setting of the Boschendal estate make it a must-visit.
