Best beers we tasted in Cape Town. Fun brew team working on small kit and exceptional tasting flights - great variety and creativity in their brews. And they are one of the few breweries we visited using African malts and hops. Small playground and grass area but it got the job done for a 45min check in.

I have driven pas The Simondium Guild multiple times, always saw the sign for Soul Barrel Brewing, you know it is one of those things, I want to visit, never have the time or it means you have to get out of the rush of cars and actually turn off the main road. Well turning off the main road is really worthwhile, we took the time to go attend their Barrel bash, it was a awesome experience, Nick and his team know their stuff. The beers are unique and has distinct taste, whilst not forgetting they are beers, we had the opportunity to taste 10 different beers, it is a great way to get introduced to real craft beers made in true microbreweries. I have to mention the meat platter, very tasty smoked "bbq" style variety of meat, and the Jalapeno brisket wrapped poppers, was my favourite, BEAUTIFULL! I would recommend when driving the R45, make the effort to take the time out of the hurry that is the traffic, slow down and have taster at Soul Barrel Brewing, on a hot summer day try the Cape Cone, a true cape beer

Great beer. Lekker atmosphere and music. Dog friendly. Great way to spend an afternoon with friends. Pizza was not bad, not amazing. Worth the visit to this off the beaten path more quaint brewery.

Soul Barrel is our favourite micro brewery. They have such flavourful and interesting beers, with a wonderful kitchen (the loaded fries are incredible!). Definitely worth making an effort to go there, amazing beer, food and people.

Their beers are excellent with 10 different types which keep on changing. The brewers and staff are very passionate about their beers. The atmosphere is great. Kid and Pet friendly. They do sell Pizza which was also excellent. The beer and pizza are both quite pricey though.
