Very pleased we picked this place. We did the 1.5hr tour and that was perfect. The guide was very friendly, as were the horses. Hubby had never been horse riding and thoroughly enjoyed it. We rode through neighbouring vineyards/orchards. Would recommend.
My partner and I chose to go on the sunset ride today and it was one of those evenings that we’ll be reminiscing about for a very long time! It was a breeze to organise with thoughtful guidance on their great range of different rides from Louis. Communication was prompt and reassuring and that sentiment extended to when we arrived and were immediately were made to feel at ease by Louis and his team. It’s clear that the horses’ welfare is at the heart of everything they do; our horses were in lovely condition, calm, and a genuine pleasure to ride. This was so nice to see as an experienced rider, and especially good news because my partner, who has only ridden a couple of times, was completely at ease too - I’m keen not to spook him away from my favourite hobby! Our guide struck the perfect balance - kind, attentive, knowledgeable, while also giving us the space to enjoy the serenity of the experience. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the backdrop of the mountains against all the vineyards is nothing short of breathtaking! It felt peaceful, unhurried, and incredibly grounding. The guides were proactive and happy to take photos along the way, to capture moments we’ll genuinely treasure. Thank you again to Louis & the team, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Great experience and outstanding value! We did the 3hr winetasting tour. Guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, the horses were calm and easy to ride for us beginners. The winery was amazing, we even bought some wine and olive oil and had it delivered to our house in the US. Big thanks to Louis, Marie and the entire staff!
I did the 4-day Cape Winelands riding and wine-tasting tour and it was truly unforgettable. From start to finish, everything was seamlessly planned—I didn’t have to think about anything except enjoying myself. Louis, the owner, was absolutely wonderful. His hospitality made the experience feel warm and personal, and the entire trip felt thoughtfully tailored to me. The guides were equally fantastic—knowledgeable, welcoming, and so fun to spend long riding days with. I loved the conversations, the insight they shared about the region, and the passion they have for what they do. As an experienced rider, I was blown away by the quality of the horses. They’re well-trained, beautifully cared for, and an absolute joy to ride. Every route, tasting, and stopalong the way was chosen with intention and offered a perfect blend of adventure, scenery, and relaxation. It was the perfect trip—memorable, effortless, and truly special. I can’t recommend Cape Winelands Riding enough. I will definitely be back!
I had the absolute best experience with Cape Winelands Riding. Louis and his entire team couldn’t have been more helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay special. They allocated two lovely horses based on my prior communicated preferences. Everything was so easy and the experience couldn’t have been more wonderful. Gorgeous views all day long from the back of a horse, and the lunch venues were picked thoughtfully. I hope to be back next year, thank you, Louis, Marie and the whole team! ❤️
