Offering wine tasting and cellar tours in the Robertson Valley

About

Springfield Estate is a winery in Robertson where we produce wines from diverse soils using a minimal, hands-off approach to winemaking. We offer informal wine tastings and cellar tours on weekdays where you can see our working cellar. Our Wild Yeast Chardonnay is fermented with native yeasts in underground cement tanks.

There are probably more scenic winetasting venues in the cape, but insofar as wine is concerned, this is the best in the valley. Definitely worth a visit!

Always a lovely stop in Robertson, Springfield wines as expected delicous but the Olives stole the show , exceptionally yummy. We love all their wines and walked away with a case of the special cuvee. Our young waitress was outstanding, friendly, knowledgeable about her wines , attentive and so welcoming.

Had a fabulous tasting today. What a fabtastic setting. Nicco was our waiter. His knowledge and English was superb and he gave us so much advice and info about the Robertson area. This was our first ever wine tasting and it definitely will not be the last. Thank you Nicco & Springfield Estate

Springfield Wine Estate is without a doubt a must visit if you're around. Lana and her team is so lovely and helpful, the wine tasting allows you to choose your preferred wines, with some delicious olives included. With such a unique view and quiet vibe, you shouldn't miss this place! We planned on coming back again but we unfortunately couldn't make it, luckily we bought some bottles for at home to enjoy Springfield Estate again a little. Thank you team. We come back next year!

Springfield Wine Estate is a true gem, less than 10 minutes from Robertson. The setting is serene and understated, allowing the focus to remain where it belongs: on exceptional wines and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down. The Garuzzis Cap Classique is fresh, crisp, and effortlessly enjoyable—made even better by the breathtaking views and a calmness words can’t quite describe. Sitting by the pond, watching the ducks and fish go about their day, it’s easy to lose track of time and the outside world entirely. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and genuinely hospitable, adding to the relaxed experience. The estate olives are the perfect snack while tasting their world-class wines. The white wines are lively, fresh, and mineral-driven, clearly reflecting Springfield’s unique terroir. Springfield also produces excellent red wines, which I didn’t taste on this visit, but know and love—especially enjoyed with a lekker braai or as a comforting winter companion. On a hot summer’s day, there are few better places to be.
