Great food, amazing wine& service We had an absolutely incredible experience at the beautiful Bacco Wine Estate, and a huge part of that was thanks to our waiter, Winnie. She was incredibly friendly and attentive, truly prioritizing all of our needs throughout the afternoon. It was clear she genuinely wanted us to have an amazing time, and we certainly did! Winnie provides top-tier service and absolutely deserves recognition 10/10 would recommend
We chose to celebrate our 7‑year anniversary with you, full of excitement after hearing so many positive things. We arrived around 12h40 and were warmly welcomed by a friendly waitress. The atmosphere was calm and all the staff we encountered were pleasant. Drinks were served promptly and our waitress impressed us with her knowledge of the wines and the estate. We ordered the winter special soup and a main course. Unfortunately, the soup took 55 minutes to arrive, far too long, though we tried to remain relaxed. The soup itself was flavorful but mine was heavily peppered, which overpowered the delicate truffle notes. My husband’s portion was seasoned correctly and much more enjoyable. The main courses followed more quickly. My kingklip, however, was served lukewarm, while my husband’s artichoke dish was excellent. We decided to skip dessert and requested the bill. At that point, the waitress poured me a glass of rosé, saying it was for our anniversary. While thoughtful, it felt odd that nothing was offered to my husband. I had already had enough to drink, so I politely thanked her and explained we needed to leave. The bill totalled R630. We noticed the wine was missing and being honest, pointed it out. Another waitress suggested it should be complimentary but our original waitress insisted otherwise and added it to the bill. The handling of this situation felt unprofessional. Overall, our anniversary lunch was disappointing. The food shows promise but small mistakes undermined the experience. On what should have been a special day, the service and execution fell short.
We had one of the best white wines here (Chardonnay 2025). The surroundings have beautiful Tuscan vibes, and we enjoyed a delicious cheese platter alongside the tasting. What made the experience even better was our sommelier, Pablo. He was incredibly passionate about the wines. This wine estate may not be very well known yet, but it’s truly a hidden gem in Franschhoek. 🍷✨
My husband and I visited this wine farm after a spontaneous trip . We checked out from where we were staying the night before and early morning I asked if he knew of a wine farm around the area i haven’t been to and without hesitation he suggested this wine farm . And I was very impressed with his recommendation. Nicely tucked in a quite but beautiful wine farm . The service was even better we were assigned with Spencer who was in my books the best waiter I’ve been served by in a long time . He kept our drinks coming , Was very knowledgeable , warm and friendly because of him I’ll definitely visit again just to experience his hospitality and Ofcouse the wine farm has some nice wine too especially the Chardonnay was our favourite . If you want the best service ask for Spencer ! You regret it
This place is a gem. Spencer looked after us perfectly, he was super knowledgeable with all the wines we tasted and he was very welcoming. We came on the wine tram and didn’t leave as we were having such a nice time! Wines were great, food was delicious and the views were beautiful. Cannot recommend enough, don’t look any further if you are looking for a wonderful afternoon
