I would have given them a better rating was it not for the fact that we forgot a smart watch and a gift in our rooms. I phoned them within an half ab hour after we left the establishment to ask them to courier it to us in George (I was more than willing to pay for the courier service as long as we could get our belongings back). I guess she was the manager, requested me to send her an WhatsApp to confirm where to send it, and that she would organise it. I sent the WhatsApp, and from there on they did not respond to any of my messages, I phoned them about 10 times on both their landline and cellphone number, without them ever answering the calls. If the owner reads this review, please get in contact with me ASAP. AM van der Linde

Found a little baby cockroach in our room the night before checkout. Then at the start of breakfast on our 2nd and last morning there, I was served some savouries/dessert type of tartlets on a little serving platter. 2 Cockroaches appeared on the platter from between the tartlets. 1 Jumped off the tray onto the table which I squashed with toilet paper and the other little one remained on the platter that I immediately took back to their kitchen. The 2 staff members were very apologetic and tried to make some excuses for why and how they could have ended up in the kitchen/food. We canceled the rest of the breakfast and checked out. Oh and there's no tv's or microwaves in the rooms which doesn't make sense since it's basically self catering but you can't even warm food that you've bought in your room. The 2 stars are for the beautiful grounds/rooms and 2 friendly staff members that dealt with us during our stay. We won't be back though. For the price you pay to stay there you should at least be served breakfast from a clean/cockroach free kitchen.

Lovely quiet boutique hotel, tastefully decorated with immaculate gardens. The room and en-suite bathroom were both big & comfortable. Staff are professional, friendly, helpful and obliging. Breakfast was really good

An extremely well run establishment and superb in every aspect. Amike and her team ensure that guests have excellent service and that the entire hotel is beautifully maintained. She is knowledgeable, professional and efficient and always pleasant. Monte Vista is modern, new and the rooms are tastefully appointed and spotlessly clean. The pool area and grounds are immaculate and a great place to wind down at the end of your day for a sundowner. Highly recommended.

Where do I begin to describe how amazing this place was? The grounds were beautiful with perfect lawns, gardens, and pool. The rooms were comfortable with excellent beds and linens. The breakfasts were delicious--fresh fruits, artisan bread, and English breakfast. Most of all, the staff was exceptional. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We will be back for sure!
