We had an incredible afternoon in Spookfontein. What a lovely interior and exterior. Shout out to the designers of that. We enjoyed a wine tasting with a beautiful view, delicious wine and cheese. Everything was perfect. We booked in advance a lunch in Bosman, but when we arrived at Bosman we cancelled the reservation and go back to Spookfontein. Spookfontein had so much more style, better seating facilities (inside and outside), a 3 course menu, delicious food and more hospitality staff. I would strongly recommend to go for wine tasting and lunch to Spookfontein. Thanks Marianne and all the other team members, for given us a brilliant experience today.

When visiting Hermanus, try and visit the Hemel en Aarde valley wine route. At the moment there is a stop and go in place, it seems like the road collapsed. (December 2025) However it is worth the short wait. Spookfontein wines is a pleasant stop. We have been here before, but this time decided to bring friends along. There is no need to book for wine tasting, however for lunch you needed a booking. The place was packed. There is an outside and inside space. The place is pet friendly! There is an upstairs wine tasting area as well as downstairs outside with a grassy outside space. Some couches available. Also a smoking area around the back. Stunning mountain views. Also the little chapple and venue hire place visible from here. The wines are of a high quality, pricy, but worth it. We purchased some, we also purchased on our previous visit. Tasting ranges from about R110. You can opt for 5 wines, or 4 of the red variety. You can also just taste per glass. A cheese platter was available on our visit, quite enough to share. Thank you. We had a fantastic host who recognized us from a previous time!

Fantastic views, great service and tasty food. Wine also lovely. Service was good. Lovely location. Great for groups or just a couple.

Wonderful venue with amazing views and friendly staff. Most importantly, the food always excellent, I love when a waitress can suggest a wine or menu item etc, and Marianne did just that. Thank you, Marianne, for the super service, you made us feel right at home. All the staff was great. Pet friendly was also a bonus!
