Beautiful setting, wonderful views and a fantastic experience! The wines are excellent with unique stories and exceptional value for money. Now let’s get to the food… we were with a group of 7 and opted for the sharing dishes experience and sampled all the wines. Each dish is crafted uniquely and deliberately with most of them having their own background story. If you get the chance, have a chat to the Executive Chef, Rachel van Zyl, about the inspiration behind each of the menu items. This woman is a powerhouse and one to watch for the future. Share in her brilliance at La Vierge while you have the chance. Highly highly recommended! P.S. almost forgot - restrooms with the best views in the sub-continent…😉

La Vierge is in a beautiful position in the Hemel en Aarde with sweeping views. Modern tasting room, good tasting options. However, the staff weren’t very engaging and didn’t seem to know much about the wine. Maybe I was expecting too much, visiting here between Storm and Newton Johnson. The wines are ok but there are better in the valley. From what I saw though, lunch looked good!

We had the wine pairing at La Vierge and it was a lovely experience. The wines were excellent and paired beautifully with the food, making the tasting both enjoyable and memorable. The setting is beautiful with a great view, which really adds to the overall atmosphere. A wonderful place to relax, enjoy good wine, and take in the scenery. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We visited La Vierge on 21 February 2026 for what was meant to be a wine tasting, but it effortlessly turned into a beautiful lunch/brunch experience as we celebrated my fiancée’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable — the kind of setting where you immediately feel comfortable and ready to unwind. The outdoor deck seating overlooking the valley and neighbouring farms is absolutely stunning, adding a special touch to the entire experience. Between the welcome drinks, warm hosting, and a thoughtful chef’s amuse-bouche, the day started on a high note. We enjoyed the macaron wine pairing, cured meat pairing, garlic parmesan fries, and a rib-eye steak. The macaron wine pairing was a standout — beautifully balanced and a fun, unique way to experience their wines. The rib-eye steak was equally impressive, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. You can tell care goes into both the food and the wine experience. A special shout-out to Collin, who hosted us during our tasting. His knowledge of the wines and the way he explained each pairing truly elevated the experience. The service overall was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional without being intrusive. Pricing is fair, especially considering that many of the main menu options are designed to serve two, making it ideal for couples or shared dining. It felt like great value for the quality and setting. I would absolutely recommend La Vierge. Exploring the Cape is one of the best ways to rediscover your own city and country, and this is a perfect stop whether you're a local adventuring or a tourist discovering the area. For a birthday celebration or simply a scenic wine-and-dine outing, it delivers. Nothing negative comes to mind — just a memorable day in a beautiful setting.
