I had the great privilege and pleasure of attending Klein Goederust last week. What a legendary farm. The rich dynamic history of the farm is perfectly paired with their award winnings wines and I was transported from 1905 to the present day with a beautiful MCC NomaRoma. Andy and Verna were our wine experts for the day and they truly captured my heart when telling the story of Klein Goederust. The Rich black history of the farm is truly captivating and awe inspiring. Mixing the old with the new showed cultural preservation and great aspirations for the future. From the beautiful MCC to the Gewurztraminer in the Natural Sweet you can truly taste the personal ambitions of the wine maker and the owner. If you have not visited this farm please place it high up on the bucket list. It truly is something special 🥂

Today (June 2026) I had an amazing visit that felt like the very best parts of family at the Klein Goederust Wine Farm. The wine was delightful but more importantly their story is compelling and beautiful. This winery is well loved and hard fought for; you taste it in the wine, see it in the faces, hear it in the stories. My heart is bigger and my palette more experienced. Thank my hosts for taking me to this Black owned winery and to Rodney for sharing his history.

Made a quick stop while passing through. The grounds are beautiful, the wine was lovely, and the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We’ll definitely be back to try the spit.

This was my favourite stop on the Franschhoek Wine Tram blue route. The building and wine tasting room are beautiful — spacious, elegant, and set against a stunning backdrop. It’s a wonderful place to relax and really enjoy the surroundings while tasting their wines. A highlight is the weekend spitbraai, which is excellent — just make sure to book in advance, as it’s very popular. Overall, a fantastic wine farm and an absolute must-stop on the route.

Lovely winery on the blue line of the tram. They offer pizza, cheese platter, or lamb with cheese platter. At the restaurant they have lamb BBQ on the spit, and a salad buffet along w their tasting. Beautiful! I liked their Syrah the most, stone fruits and spice. The owner’s mother used to work on a farm and he named his brut wine after her which is the first one you taste.
