Beautiful nature and location, but unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. During housekeeping, my laptop was damaged and the hotel completely denied any responsibility. The screen repair alone costs $550, yet instead of handling the situation professionally, they simply avoided accountability. With all due respect, your investigation does not really prove anything. A device could easily fall, get damaged, and then simply be placed back in the same spot afterwards. The laptop was fully functional before housekeeping entered the villa and damaged immediately after. Saying that it was “found in the same position” is not enough to remove responsibility entirely. What is most disappointing is not only the damage itself, but the complete lack of accountability and professionalism in handling the situation. Service and communication were also very poor. One evening we lost electricity and WiFi for around 4 hours while staying in one of the most remote villas. We were ignored for hours and only received vague promises that someone would “come soon.” The villas are also poorly equipped for guests, no snacks or minibar options, despite the fact that the nearest restaurant or shop is a 15-minute drive away and the shop closes at 6pm and there is no delivery service. Apart from the scenery, everything else felt poorly managed. Definitely not coming back!

Visited on my birthday in February and had a great time. Lunch was great at Arum. Grounds were beautiful.

We stayed in one of the orchard cottages for 2 nights and the whole estate is amazing, from the staff to the food and the beautiful gardens it was wonderful.

I would highly recommend visiting Boschendal to anyone travelling to the Franschoek wine region. We stayed in the Champagne Farmhouse, a self-catered accommodation. The house was tastefully furnished and decorated, and had a wonderful garden and terrace, though some of the amenities could benefit from an update. The estate itself is beautiful with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We especially loved the farm shop and the deli restaurant that sit under the old oak trees. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and we very much enjoyed our garden tours, horse riding and wine tastings. It’s worth noting that from the self-catered cottages it’s a bit of a drive to the main part of the estate, as well as the pool area. However, if you don’t want to walk, there are frequent shuttles running between the different areas.

Simply AMAZING - we regret not staying at least a couple of days in Boschendal to really enjoy the place. One night is not enough. They were all gentle and provided great service. Breakfast at The Werf (provided to guests) is awesome. The room is very comfortable and has everything you need to have a good time in there.
