An excellent experience. Outdoor tables in courtyard under the trees between the tasting room & the restaurant. Our waitress was helpful & friendly The menu was more ambitious than I had expected - fine dining style with bigger portions. You might struggle if you prefer more basic options. I loved the Globe Artichoke starter. The fish main was very tasty - it was Angel Fish on the day. The pate starter was huge. The winelist was very reasonably priced. I would return in a heartbeat I would suggest booking a wine tasting before lunch - we didn’t & regretted that we hadn’t

First off, we arrived 30 minutes late for our booking owing to a flat tyre. This during a busy time on 16 December. Still, the team welcomed us warmly and assured us that it would be no problem at all. Dionne was knowledgeable about the menu and explained the specials of the day. We opted for the venison, sirloin steak, pork loin and ceasar salad. The meals were delectable and beautifully presented. The sweet potato side with citrus honey dressing is a must-try. Dionne's service was on point. She gave us ample time to decide, and ensured that we didn't lack anything. The manager also came to the table to make sure everything was in order. Because we were late, I didn't take the time to wander around and appreciate the beautiful gardens. Will certainly visit again for that, and to try the desserts. My experience of Groot Phesantekraal was excellent, and I can recommend it without reservation.

A very quiet and beautiful little farm near the outskirts of the scenic Stellenbosch area in the Western Cape. This farm caught us by surprize for its unassuming atmosphere and calm pace. We enjoyed a nice wine tasting with an amazing chacutterie platter of fresh fruits, cheeses and meats. Really one of the best platters we've had on our wine route travels. The wine was good, though admittedly not hr best for our palettes. However, the overall experience was a good one and we will.definately be back again in the future. Wine & Platter: 4/5 **** Service: 3/5 *** Atmosphere: 3/5 ***
