My family and I visited De Grendel on a friend’s recommendation, and it exceeded all our expectations. We’re quite picky when it comes to dining out, but everything was exceptional. The food was absolutely sublime—beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly executed. The location is stunning, with exquisite views of Table Mountain that make the experience even more special. The service was also outstanding. Our waitress, Fiona, was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure there were gluten-free options for me. She even arranged a lovely birthday surprise at the end of the meal. A truly memorable experience. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Went here for a very late lunch and an afternoon wine tour of the estate. The lunch was nice though I would not recommend going off-peak hours like I did, as the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. The food was quite nice and the staff was polite and accomodating. This place is all about the scenery and the wine though. If you want a nice lunch and/or nice wine this is a great pick for you. The estate tour was alright bit honnestly I felt like we didnt get an up close look at much so I wouldnt expect too much from the tour.

De Grendel wine estate is a hidden gem that boast with one of the most amazing views and history in Cape Town. The wine experience and service was very exciting and fun. I have tried their merlot before and it is definitely a classic. The Rubaiyat really stood out for me. This was an unforgettable experience. Valentines day 2026.

Absolutely Stunning. One of the best set menus I've had. Setting is lovely. Great parking. Conveniently located. Breathtaking views and great service. Always feel like royalty here. And the best part the wine and food are so so good.

Without a doubt, the BEST winery estate we went too… by a margin. The food was exceptional, cannot rate the service enough - before we even thought we needed something the offer was there. The chardonnay and bubbly the best I had, the duck was exceptional. The service was really one of the highlights - thank you to Fiona. THAT bread and amuse bouche - so good. And I really appreciate the glasses and how cool the beverages were, little details make a big difference. Will be coming again for sure!
