The Chambers Accommodations Martinborough - Boutique Studio Apartments is a hotel in Martinborough. Our two boutique studio apartments, named "The Advocate" and "The Verdict," are located in a converted former accountants/lawyers' office building. We offer a kitchenette, smart TV with Netflix, and a bluetooth speaker in each room.
Our accommodations are located within walking distance to local eateries, shops, and a supermarket. Each apartment features a bathroom with a tiled shower, heated tiled floor, and a heated towel rail. We also have old vault doors used as bathroom doors in some units.
We stayed in “The Advocate” room and were very impressed. The styling of the room was of the highest quality, with beautiful furnishings and linens.
It is within perfect walking distance to the eateries, shops and supermarket - literally a stones throw away.
It is quiet, but you do hear the people in the other room coming and going which can be loud. Once they are in their room, you can’t hear anything.
We appreciated the complimentary bubbles and coffee vouchers. We also received a $150 3-course dinner deal for 2 (drinks excluded) for the Karahui Wine Bar which is a great deal. The food leans more towards the fine dining experience, coupled with excellent service. We enjoyed our meal very much.
My only recommendation is that if you prefer a thicker & firmer pillow, bring your own if it is an option for you as we found the ones provided a little thin for our needs. The bed was comfortable.
We highly recommend The Chambers for your stay, and the owners were highly engaging and checked in to make sure everything was okay for us - much appreciated. :)

The Verdict in The Chambers was really lovely, we had a great stay. The location is very convenient to Martinborough township, the apartment is gorgeous and the hosts were readily available.

Gorgeously styled apartment (we stayed in The Advocate). Lovely big room, and bathroom, loved the old vault door. A stones throw from the square and cafes, perfect location. Communication with the host was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Staying at The Chambers is a unique experience because it used to be offices of accountants/lawyers that have been converted into two stunning boutique studio apartments. The whole interior has been renovated including new windows. The interior decor is beautiful and modern. I loved the use of an old heavy vault door as the bathroom door and each room as a name that aligns with it's history i.e. The Advocate and the Verdict. We stayed in the Advocate.
Communication with the owner for door access was good. There are two entry doors which require a door code. It was a bit tricky at first to use it, but once we got the hang of it it was very handy to not have to carry a key with us.
The room has a small kitchenette with enough crockery & cutlery for 2 people. The owner very kindly left us a gift of two small bottles of bubbly, 2 regular coffee vouchers for the Neighbourhood Cafe on the square and a $150 three course dinner voucher for Karahui restaurant. This was a very kind gesture and a nice touch for the price we paid for the room. The smart TV scrolls through a selection of artwork as the screensaver, which looks very cool. Great having a smart TV so that we could log into any viewing apps we had, but the room also has free access to a Netflix account. There is also a bluetooth speaker in the room.
The bathroom is stunning with a tiled shower, heated tiled floor, heated towel rail and bronze tap trimmings. There is also a massive round bath that sits next to a very large mirror. We never used the bath as it probably would've taken forever to fill it. I personally felt that with current water issues and occasional water shortages in the Wairarapa, a smaller-sized bath for two people would've been fine. The shower water pressure and size of the shower was awesome.
The only slightly negative feedback I have is that the bed was too hard for my liking and the headboard was not attached to the bed, so when the bed slid forward on rollers the headboard almost fell forward too. The silver heated towel rail could've been black or bronze to match the rest of the bathroom tapware and the towel rail temperature was so hot that it almost burnt me. The toilet roll holder was a little bit far to reach and the old-style pillar next to the bath needed a decorative plant or something to sit on it, as it looked very bare. It would've been nice to have more than 2 toilet rolls left in the bathroom. We heard a bit of noise in the early morning, but it wasn't too bad and the windows do appear to be double-glazed. I'd definitely recommend staying there.

I recently spent a night here for my 40th birthday, we booked both apartments so could go between the two while we were getting ready. They are so beautiful and very central to everything in Martinborough! Highly recommend staying here, incredibly comfortable and modern.
