The avocado smash was clearly guacamole from the jar, which tasted terrible. Food lacked flavour and the service needed improvement. Coffee was the only good thing.

The eggs Benedict were quite disappointing. The whites of the eggs were partially raw and the Hollandaise tasted like it came from a can and, worse, was cool/cold I did add salmon, which was the saving grace, but I would not order this dish ever again.

I love their coffee. You have to come and see it for yourself. It might not be everyone's cup of tea. But for all the locals and passers-by that I see come in... They come in because they know its good. I don't think I've ever seen anyone upset with the food here. Their mantra to serve others is clear to see behind the counter. They are always friendly to every person they meet. They work, because their customers are their livelihoods. Time moves as always does here. The merry-go-round of life! To eat and drink, is a privilege of the living. So why not dine and be merry, here, now. Thankyou for your care. 🕉

We were very lucky to arrive when we did (around noon on a Saturday) because fifteen minutes later the place filled up rapidly. Now there aren't that many restaurant options in Featherstone and this was a sunny summer weekend so lots of people driving over the Rimutaka on the way for a day out in the Wairarapa. Anyway, the lunch menu is reasonably extensive with some vegetarian options. We sat inside but there is outdoor seating available to the right side of the building. The only slightly negative note is that, in the face of increased sit in customers, clearing the tables had gone by the wayside.

Been here before and the food was always fresh, looks like new owners since I was here last. Brought a Lamington, the sponge was hard and the cream on the inside was borderline old, they replaced it with a lemon tart and under the meringue was a black thing, so I just left it. The presentation of the eggs bene was lovely, but the eggs were not cooked the whites where still clear. Giving 2 stars as the coffee was amazing.
