A lovely site. Reception was friendly and courteous. Pitches are flat, very well shaded and reasonably private. There is access to electricity, water and drainage close to each pitch. The site is clean and well maintained. Cash and cards accepted. I paid approximately €139 for 7 nights with ACSI, commencing 24/05. The in-house restaurant is excellent, with a menu offering thoughtful French fare that is beautifully cooked and presented. A level of quality that is far above the vast majority of campsite establishments. Internet / mobile coverage is excellent : signal strength of 5 bars with a performance to match. There is a small Proxi convenience store in the village of Palau del Vidre (400m) which is expensive but has a good selection. Alternatively, there is quite a large Carrefour Market on the edge of St Genis-des-Fontaines (4.3km by bicycle / 5.6km by car). This supermarket is well stocked and normally priced. Architecturally, several of the surrounding villages are photographically interesting and retain some Gallic charm. Of note are St. Genis and Elne, both of which have well preserved cloisters and attached churches. Travel by bicycle in the area is, on the whole, relaxed and easy. There are some dedicated cyclepaths, but not that many. However, traffic intensity on the rural thoroughfares is generally low, making use of these regular roads generally stress free. The only black mark is the lack of a cyclepath along the D914 main highway. This can force considerable detours to get across the River Tech and reach Elne. In summation, a sylvan paradise that offers tranquility and superb restaurant fare.

We have been using this site for many years and it is our bit of paradise. It's a long journey from mid Wales but it's worth every mile. Beautiful large emplacements, the best pool anywhere, a 1st class restaurant and friendly helpful staff. See you next year.
