Le Comptoir Rocatin is a restaurant in Laroque-des-Albères. Our team prepares tapas, including poulpe, beef tataki, and calamars à l'Andalusie. We offer a dish of the day, with past selections like jarret de porc, and desserts such as banofee and sorbet from a local glacier. Our establishment has a ground floor and a first floor, with a window view overlooking a small park.

Stale bread is unacceptable. The portions are very small for the price. When you tell the boss lady what you thought, she rudely defends her policy instead of accepting the slightest criticism.

The most beautiful tapas - in particular the poulpe is SO good that we ordered another (and I’ve had a lot of poulpe!). The perfect setting , most gorgeous food and kind and warm service for our very rare date night. The owner was kind and all staff were great. Thank you for having us we come to the area multiple times each year and will be returning with family. A new favourite for us :)

New owners Didn't realise until we tried popping in for lunch, found out their opening night was next day and booked. Lovely tapas, good local wine list, friendly, knowledgeable service. We're definitely planning to go again at Easter when we're next there.

Love this restaurant! A must if you are in the vicinity however rsvp absolutely required as they are always full. We tried to rsvp thrice before we got a table for 2 for lunch on a weekday. We planned the day by going to this restaurant on our way to the Spanidg border for some shopping and a visit to the Dali Museum. We arrived a few minutes earlier, there were a few customers on the terrace. There's a ground-floor and a first floor. We were seated very quickly upstairs with the window view overlooking a small park. Menu was displayed on the board. While we were settling in and deciding what to order, the tables around us filled up within the next 10 minutes. This is a tapas restaurant with a dish of the day, you can decide on the tapas potions, if its small or large....the sizes were appropriate. However they tasted excellent that we wished we ordered the larger potions! We ordered the "couteaux en persillade" shellfish grilled on a plancha which was excellent. I loved it. So was the beef tataki fusion style with soy sauce, delicious! The squids (calamars à l'Andalusie) were very nicely fried, not greasy, crunchy yet juicy. The "jarret de porc" was excellent, succulent, tender and very tasty. It melted in my mouth, this is one of the best! I ordered a sorbet made by a local "glacier" in Sorede by the name of Jeff, whose sorbets I am familiar with. I decided to try the hibiscus, ginger and mint. I love the taste of ginger, it was Spice yet it left à lingering hibiscus flavour in my mouth. Not advisable if you can't take hot and spicy. My partner ordered the banofee for his dessert, he loved it. The waiter who attended to us was extremely polite, courteous and had good knowledge of the menu and each dish including the sorbets. Well done! Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. We will certainly return!

Unfortunately for a new restaurant we were a little disappointed. The decor was lovely as was the outside eating area. The waiting staff were less than helpful. And when we arrived there was no greeting or smiles even though they were not doing anything at the time. I had a selection of Tapas which I found a little dull. Our friends had the entrecote which was okay but the chips were greasey and soft. Hope our next visit will be a little more welcoming
