Waited a long time for a breakfast sandwich while the small restaurant was not busy. Order to go came with breakfast potatoes that were very good but I did not ask for ketchup or utensils so saved this for later. I ordered the sandwich because I wanted the fresh sourdough toast - as described on the menu. The eggs were served on ends of thinly sliced dry Italian white bread that was seriously toasted. This was a disappointment and was over buttered perhaps because it was not sourdough - takes away from the whole sandwich.. I never would have ordered this otherwise and was not informed. I was on the road so could not return it. Did not consume it Not sure if I will return. White Italian bread is never close to sourdough. I was onsite and could have been asked if I wanted a different bread or plate which I would have chosen. My first review in years.

Whenever we visit Southbury we try to go to Rachel’s for the best breakfast. Unfortunately today it was the worst. Coffee was wonderful except the 1st cup the cream was sour. They gave me a new cup in beautiful stoneware cup. Unfortunately the 2 orders of pancakes were not up to the delicious pancakes we had in the past. They were very dry, no taste. We always go for the blueberry filled but they were out of blueberries. They were 3 large pancakes that only came with the tiniest pat of butter I’ve ever seen. We ordered maple syrup which had an up charge of $2.50 each . We were lucky to get 2 tbl in the plastic cup that they were served in. It only covered 2 pancake!😟 Sorry to say we will not be returning The waitress was very nice but the breakfast was not. It was really a waste of money.

We used Rachel's Kitchen for our family Thanksgiving side dishes this Thanksgiving and were totally satisfied. Her sweet potato casserole in particular was awesome but everything from stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, biscuits, potato's, and pumpkin crisp were delicious. She worked with us to plan everything just how we wanted them and I we'd definitely recommend her for anyone who wants good, comfort food made from scratch. The restaurant is cute for dining in too!

I ordered a French dip, burger medium. I received a thick burger well done with a burnt roll. My wife ordered a sausage and gravy breakfast with potatoes on the side. The potatoes were old and they were so hard unable to be eaten. The corn muffin was so tiny almost couldn’t see it, and there was no flavor in the sausage gravy nor the eggs. We ordered an orange juice that ended up costing us nearly 5 dollars. This is the second time that we visited Rachel‘s kitchen, the first time food was delicious unfortunately not so this time.

Fresh lemonade made on the spot. A whole board of poutine options. Another board of lobster options. Good prices and service. Loved the Dagwood burger on rye. One star down only because of the plastic plates and cups
