This place is amazing! Huge stone creations that rival Stonehenge and surpass it in many ways. Huge pieces of machinery, Airstream trailers in the air, and even a bamboo forest. So much fun. Be prepared to walk- though you can ask for assistance from the golf cart driver if you need it. The walk is part of the fun!
Hogpen Hill is a wild and interesting place. The grounds are extensive and lovely for walking on a nice day. The sculptures run a gamut from ironworks to large stones to imaginative huge stuff. We happened to see a really big bear, but your experience may vary (beautiful specimen). Fridays are $40 per car. Take a lunch or snacks and enjoy it all, both the natural and “unnatural.”
9.28.25 Buy tickets in advance. Must wear comfy shoes like sneakers or hiking boots. You're out in the sun so if a hot day, be smart. You can make this walk to see the sculptures as long or short as you'd like. You park and walk around enjoying nature, beautiful and peaceful grounds with sculptures throughout. There are bathrooms by the gift/gallery (near the red headquarters building). I recommend packing a picnic and blanket so you can enjoy the day.
Very cool sculpture playground for Edward Tufte statistician turned artist (or artist turned statistician?) Some really impressive and imaginative pieces. Definitely worth a look if you don’t mind walking and you cram enough people into your car to justify the $80 per vehicle price.
On Saturday we visited Hogpen Hill Farms, the sculpture garden of Edward Tufte. Very interesting artist whose work is spread across a few hundred acres. Amazing display of large scale artworks spread out over about 250 acres. Wear good walking shoes. They ask you to walk on the grass and it’s uneven with rolling hills. The place is spectacular with different sections dedicated to different artwork. You can easily spend a few hours roaming around. You can bring food with you and sit down in a field to have a snack or a meal. There are restrooms. There is no food or drink for sale on site. There is a shop that sells artwork and books.
