Volunteer Stream Sampling

Help test local rivers and streams for bacteria and nitrate pollution. You will learn to use data recording tools alongside an experienced staff member. No prior experience is needed, but adults must accompany volunteers under 16.

Pomperaug River Watershed is a non-profit organization in Woodbury dedicated to protecting, sustaining, and restoring the water resources of the Pomperaug Watershed. We utilize community engagement, education, advocacy, and science-based action. Our work includes developing water management tools for municipalities, offering educational resources, and engaging volunteers in environmental research and stewardship projects within the 90 square-mile basin.
