Macroinvertebrate (River Bug) Survey

You can join staff to look for and identify river bugs in local streams. Learn what these macroinvertebrates indicate about the health of the stream ecosystem. All adults and children over age 10 (accompanied by an adult) are welcome, and no prior experience is required.

Pomperaug River Watershed is a non-profit organization in Woodbury dedicated to protecting, sustaining, and restoring the water resources of the Pomperaug Watershed. We utilize community engagement, education, advocacy, and science-based action. Our work includes developing water management tools for municipalities, offering educational resources, and engaging volunteers in environmental research and stewardship projects within the 90 square-mile basin.
