I am an out of towner, back for a visit with family. What I miss about living in Milwaukee are their fish frys. My family highly recommend this place ( Kegel's a 100+ year old family business) I've been here once before on my ladt visit and what come out front is how busy this place is but how their staff works their butts off! Tonight we had the pleasure of having "♡Lisa♡ as our server. We had 9 in our group and Lisa was so attentive you never would have guessed she had several other tables to take care of too. The food was good, atmosphere (I have to say its loud, BUT Lisa was PERFECT!! Thank You Lisa, you were great!!!

This was a great disappointment. Reviews were great and highly rated. We were either unlucky or the place has changed management recently. We waited 15 minutes for the waitress to first come and offer us drinks. We waited another 20 for the drinks to arrive. The place was busy but I didn’t perceive it as understaffed. We waited too long for our food. Service was terrible and we expected food to be great at least. Food was horrendous. We ordered the duck, which is supposed to be the specialty. It was the worst duck I ever had. The meat was not fresh and had that smell of a bird going bad. I can’t stand how they don’t realize that. The schnitzel was pretty mediocre also. We always finish our food. This time, we couldn’t. Food quality was too bad to consume it. We thought about telling the waitress, but didn’t feel like keeping waiting for an experienced that was already bad. We paid and left to never be back. The good points are, the atmosphere is quite inviting and the band playing was fantastic. I would never go back, and hope they get better or will go out of business, guaranteed.

AMAAAAZING Establishment! Ask for Mare, she’s a fixture of the restaurant and the best emissary the owners could ever find or ask for. Makes you feel like a regular or local. Food was DELICIOUS. I recommend for true German appetizer a pretzel, some variation or wurst and cheese curds b/c WI. For a main, ai recommend the Duck, Pork Shank or Schnitzel. I tried the French onion soup and it did not disappoint. Wash all that food down with a stein of amazing beer, I am partial to the Dunkel or Oktoberfest. Pricing was fair, not a bargain, but on par for quality or food recieved. As always Tell’em OuttaTownTony sent you via Google Reviews!

A 100 year Milwaukee family run restaurant a quick drive from downtown. Authentic German cuisine and a good number beers on tap in pint and quart sized glass steins. I sat at the original bar and enjoyed 2 delicious appetizers with my beer: kugel wurst (bratwurst and cheese encased in a deep fried potato pancake) and pork shanks rolls. Portions were generous and filled me up. That night some masked dancers and accordion players performed under the heated tent over the beer garden. Very funny and captivating. A definite must for anyone interested in german culture.

The FFF didn’t disappoint! We enjoyed ordering items across the board! We would recommend scheduling a reservation for a Friday night! Amazingly fast service!!! The fish fry was small but 4 pieces, light breading, flakey & moist, flavorful & definitely preferred the potato pancakes over the French fries which we wish the plates had dividers so the liquids wouldn’t saturate other food items. It was a great meal overall!
