Incredible owners. Massive collection. One of the coolest places I've been, easily the coolest book store

Family favorite whenever we visit the area. The building is eclectic and when you think you've seen it all a doorway, turn, or stairway leads you to more books. Lots of old collectable books with modern stuff mixed in.

I could literally spend all day here, browsing the vast variety of books it holds. You'll find new, used, and antique collections lining wall to wall and floor to ceiling shelves. Fair prices, friendly staff.

I could spend hours in this bookstore, digging through its shelves. Really great selection of books in a beautiful space. The people are incredibly nice and helpful. Must stop for readers and book lovers!

It was such a wonderful surprise it was to find this quality of a used bookshop in Washburn, Wisconsin. We stopped on a whim, as we always do when we see a used bookshop, on our way to Bayfield. After an hour and $75 later, as well as all our compliments to the owners, we left already planning our next return (which ended up being two days later, before we headed back home). It's rare to find a shop this large, well-organized, tidy, uncrowded, and well-stocked. Powell's in Chicago had been top of our list, but this surpassed the selection there, and with cheaper prices. We're poetry folks, so spent most of our time scouring the poetry selection, but we easily could have spent several more hours there. It also has one of the most extensive Native American sections of any shop I've encountered. Note: There are some new books in the mix, so those are priced accordingly. As other reviewers noted, the Google business listing should be updated to reflect this isn't a coffeeshop, just one of the most well-curated book shops in the Midwest (if not the country). Again, we found the prices very reasonable for the selection and condition of the books. We can't wait to return.
