Food was easily the worst part of this experience, and the staff/service was the best. Atmosphere while dining in is on the same level as being in a room with damp carpet, hot air, and other guests who don't seem to realize their constant staring makes others uncomfortable. That said, the servers are always polite and try to give you the best service. I had pasta, so I can't speak for the pizza, but honestly, the sauce tastes like straight canned tomatoes and sauce with no added herbs or flavor to make it taste good. Since the sauce is the main part of pasta, it easily ruined the entire dish for me. One-dimensional, canned/Cento flavor. I'm not dogging on it because it clearly isn't fresh ingredients, don't get me wrong! My issue is that they do nothing to elevate the flavors, they just seem to open a can, heat the contents, and think mixing it with pasta shells will produce exquisite flavor. The cannoli is decent, but $4 for one of that size is crazy work. What I learned from this experience (and many others) is that if Wisconsinites rave about something in particular, especially food places, you need to take it with the largest grain of salt ever. I don't expect a wide variety of cuisines or Michelin-level tastes, but food in Wisconsin has been overwhelmingly bland outside of Milwaukee.
