Hi, My name is Rosie and I am on the board of directors at the Blue Heron.
I would like to welcome all of you to come and walk our grounds and enjoy
our area. We are striving to make it a people friendly place. We have pathways
to walk on wood chip trails and a board walk to our pond. The boardwalk will be wheelchair accessible. We are having our apple trees pruned at the end of June.
So you are welcome to come and pick apples in the fall. Also on Sept. 13th we
will have a craft Fair from 10 to 3. Please come and enjoy.
Show moreBlue Heron Wildlife Sanctuary is a 90-plus acre wildlife sanctuary, on the West Bank of the Milwaukee River, a few miles north of Saukville, Wisconsin, a bit more than a half hour from MIlwaukee. The grounds are open to the public, without charge, during daylight hours. Hike or snowshoe or cross-country ski the trails, enjoy a picnic near the Milwaukee River, pick apples from two small orchards on the property, or follow a boardwalk to a small pond to observe frogs, turtles, and other wildlife. The woodland, wetland, and prairie plants on the property are amazing.
The Blue Heron is hosting a craft fair on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 10 AM to 5 PM, at which time food will be available from Mr Tony's BBQ Truck. This should be an event not to be missed.
