A group of four. Three out-of-towners. One local. One was happy with salmon, but disappointed that instead of potatoes they could not substitute more spinach, two liked their fish fry, the 4th ordered surf & turf - tenderloin was good - ordered med rare (more rare than medium), would probably order medium next time. Lobster was tasteless & had been frozen too long. Clam chowder was under whelming. Bread was good For the price point, paper napkins & no table linens was off-putting. Plastic coated wine list was kind of tacky - adequate selection. Reisling glass had lip print on glass. Reservations were made in advance, but we were not seated in the dining area over looking pond. The waitstaff seemed rushed. Didn't remember who got which beverage or which entree. Cleared before everyone was finished. Not sure if trained - serve from left, clear from right. Quaint decor, looks like it hasn't changed in years.

The Fox & Hounds Restaurant was a proper super club. The staff was super friendly. The steak was just okay, a bit overstaying and slightly overcooked. But everything else was good. The unique sky of Old Fashioned drink was a welcome surprise. The bread abs butter was truly exceptional. I recommend the experience overall, but careful ordering the ribeye. Be survival with your order.

Have come here occasionally over the last 40 years. As a matter of fact, it was one of the first restaurants I took my wife to when we started dating. It’s an iconic spot that still seems to have a strong following of loyal customers. We came with another couple who also have a long history of dining here. Food: It is most definitely a traditional supper club, but without the relish tray. The menu has a large selection of seafood, steaks, salads, and a few other assorted entrées. We settled on a rib steak for me and the scallops and pasta for her. Before the entrées, we each had a side salad, which came with a couple of nice-sized loaves of warm bread. A delicious start to the meal. The entrées arrived without much delay. The rib steak was cooked to my liking, medium rare, and had nice flavor. It was a little tough, but I’m the kind of person who doesn’t mind a bit of chew. My wife would not have enjoyed it. Her scallops and pasta were good; however, there was the occasional bit of sand grit. Both meals had good flavor and portions large enough to require to-go containers. Service: We had terrific service the entire evening. I would say that Lisa was the most kind and helpful server I’ve had here. She made sure we were well cared for, kept our drinks refreshed, and checked that everything was to our liking. Thanks, Lisa. Atmosphere: To me, it doesn’t seem like much has changed over the last 40 years. The place has received a lot of TLC. It has a genuine warmth to it. The rooms, and there are many, have character and classic charm. I’m not a big fan of the “buy one, get one” pricing. I understand that restaurants have to charge enough to make money, no issue there. For me, simply stating the price for each meal would be my preference. It’s still a wonderful, iconic restaurant that we love to return to.

Generous wine serving. 7 wood burning fireplaces all aglow. Many dining rooms from intimate to banquet. Friendly servers my steak was cooked to perfection. Ample parking. Great atmosphere. Great for date night, or family gatherings and everything in between.

The Fox & Hounds Restaurant & Tavern… what a gem! My wife and I stopped in after a long day of driving and were immediately enamored with the place. It truly felt like stepping back in time and was one of the most inviting restaurants I’ve been to in a long while. The place was packed — there was a wait, and even people with reservations had to wait. But honestly, it was for good reason. This place is fantastic and absolutely worth it. The fireplace was roaring in the corner of the bar and made you just want to settle in and stay awhile. 🔥 When our food arrived, it did not disappoint. My wife got the cheddar and spinach tortellini with chicken and Alfredo sauce. It was rich and filling, but in the best possible way — incredibly decadent and full of flavor. I ordered the grilled salmon with dill sauce and roasted vegetables. The sauce on the salmon was incredible, and the salmon itself was cooked perfectly. I also have to give a shoutout to our waitress, who was absolutely excellent. She helped us choose between several options on the menu and made the whole experience even better. We can’t wait to come back! 😊
